Description
Hey, I'm ciena. I spent a good part of my early 20's traveling and working/volunteering on the road. (I have done many workaway exchanges, not just the one that is reviewed)
For the last 5 years I was creating a business (house painting) and then closed it because I wanted to get back to being an artist, and being free to travel. I now work as a tattoo artist.
I value the concept of being "well-rounded" - I believe that no experience or situation is "beneath me" or not of interest, rather, I want to learn as many trades/skills as possible so I can incorporate them into my life and art practice. This could range from something like scrubbing floors and shoveling manure, to building a house or designing a mural. I want to get my hands dirty, I want to learn.
I am not a sedentary person.
I travel with a flexible mindset - I don't like to plan every last detail, I leave room to be surprised and accept opportunities I could have never imagined. Yet sometimes I yearn to stay in one place for a while, to build a community and to work hard and achieve something.
When I stop to volunteer somewhere, I'm not looking for an experience to "consume" and move on - I'm looking for a host that I can bless with my company as well as being blessed by them. I'm a simple soul who's easy to please, quick to learn, and eager to teach.Interests

Along my travels I have worked on farms, in restaurants, bars and hostels. When in the states I am self-employed as a house painter, tattoo artist and housecleaner. I also spent 2 months working in a refugee camp in Greece, which was by far my favorite experience, really taught me so much. I have a lot to say about this particular subject, so please ask me if you are interested to know.
As a teenager I worked in a rental office for 5 years, doing customer service and organizational tasks. I also worked as a waitress (which I loved) and as a kids beach volleyball coach (patience is the key).
As far as art goes, I can paint and draw well in a variety of media. I also have experience with graphic design and using Procreate.Age

What else ...
I am an extremely reliable person - there's nothing in this world that bugs me more than a flake. So if I say I'll show up and do something, you can be sure I'll do it. :)
