Travelling
Description
I graduated university in the U.S. two years ago, and since have been living in New York City working as an assistant editor at a book publishing company. But…..I quickly became bored, and stifled by the crowds and sounds of the city. I decided it was time for a change, so in May I quit my job and decided to embark on El Camino de Santiago. As of right now (June 18, 2023) I am almost halfway across Spain, having started in St. Jean Pied de Port earlier this month. I hope to make it to Santiago, maybe even Fisterra :)
After, I want to keep traveling…but away from the summer crowds…and I want to be doing intentional work. I love the outdoors, hiking, animals, gardening, building with my hands, writing, singing, running, practicing yoga, art, reading, cooking, baking, good wine, philosophy, and talking with people and practicing my Italian and Spanish. I am also very good at being alone and entertaining myself. I do not have social media, though I do use Facebook from time to time when necessary.
My grandparents on both sides are from Italy (Salerno and Atripalda), so after the Camino I plan to visit those places and spend some extended time in Italy. I would love to experience Tuscany as well as the famous Dolomites, but am open to many things. Since I don’t have all of the time in the world (alas, I must get another job eventually) shorter stays (1 week) are preferable.
I hope to arrive in Italy by July 20 and stay through the middle of August.Interests

I grew up on a farm in California, to which I credit many skills that perhaps not all 23 year olds have. I spent many hours raising goats and chickens, and sometimes helping my dad with the bees we kept (although that always made me a bit scared, I must admit). I love dogs and in the city I had a second job as a dogsitter and dogwalker. I am very strong and can do physical work for long periods of time. After the Camino, I imagine I will be quite mentally strong as well.
Though I don’t have the chance in NYC to garden much, I know many way around cultivation and sustainable practices.
I am also quite knowledgeable in the kitchen—I will make you delicious tortas and other desserts with fresh fruits—as well as savory cooking.
I have a very steady hand and can do any sort of painting—large walls/rooms, as well as small, detailed artistic stuff.Age
