Description
Hi! We're Annie and Crowley, a pair of sisters from Oregon USA. We are both proud anti-fascists who believe in the good of humanity and equality for all!
We are looking to learn more about sustainable living and share stories with new friends through our workaway farm experience. We're both passionate about the outdoors and our relationship to nature, people, and art and we're excited for the opportunity to expand our horizons with travel and immerse ourselves in the daily lives of local communities.
Annie recently graduated from the University of Hawai'i at Hilo with a degree in marine science and we're looking forward to having this experience together before she starts pursuing more full time work. Currently, Annie is enjoying working with animals as a marine mammal volunteer at the Oregon Coast Aquarium. In her free time she enjoys crocheting, painting, and cooking. While she enjoys learning about foreign cultures and languages through media such as music and tv, she is excited to build on her language skills.
Crowley is self employed and works as a tattoo artist after receiving a degree in illustration from Leeds Arts University (UK). She has dreams of someday building her own house and is hoping to learn more about permaculture, eco-building, animal welfare, and general farming practices. She just wrapped up an adventure building a straw bale home in New Mexico and has plenty of experience with construction and manual labor.
In Crowley's free time she enjoys hiking, powerlifting, reading, and listening to a wide variety of music. She particularly likes learning about mythology and folklore from all over the world. In the next year she is hoping to go back to teaching art to kids part time and continue helping with eco-builds. She has had previous travel experience in Spain, Croatia, the Netherlands, and Scotland, as well as several of the US's national parks. After this trip she is hoping to travel to Japan or Mexico. Annie always beats her at chess.
