Description
Hi!
I'm Anna, 26 from the Arctic Circle, Finland. Bikepacking from Estonia to France.
ABOUT MY CYCLE TRIP:
I will be starting my bike packing trip on July 7th from Tallinn. My goal is to make my way from there to West Coast of France by September :)
I just finished my degree on occupational therapy and now I want to take some time to reflect the future and test the limits of my mind and body. I also want to enjoy nature, meet likeminded people, learn new skills and do my dear hobbies (such as surfing, yoga, CrossFit, climbing...).
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS I'M MOSTLY INTERESTED IN:
I'm very drawn to sustainable living and I'd like to learn more about that. My dream would be a tiny house with a huge veggie garden next to the ocean and I'd like to live that life a bit, before making a big life change.
I'm traveling on my own, so I would prefer project where there's other volunteers also, or if the host has time to spend time with me :)
Things I'm interested learning more about:
- Permaculture, gardening
- Natural building
- Off grid living, tiny houses
- Sailing
- Nature conservation
- Learning new languages
- Help disadvantaged people
WHAT CAN I OFFER TO THE PROJECT?:
- My willingness to learn new skills
- Maturity and trustworthiness
- A solid background of volunteering (workaway, WWOOFING): nature conservation, hostel, preschool, monastery, housekeeping.. I have done volunteering in at least 7 countries.
- Hard working attitude
- I'm physically very fit
- I have a yoga teacher certificate
- My degree on occupational therapy and I'm specialized in working with children and youth with autism spectrum disorder and disabilities.
- Years of experience in working in hospitality
- Common sense and ability to work on my own or in a group
I do not to volunteering just to have a roof over my head, but to learn new things, get to know the local area and meet new people :) I'm open to all lengths of stay and if I find the perfect match, I'd be willing to stay for months. My ideal workaway would be a tiny house project on the coast somewhere I could also surf :)
I try to live clean life without excess drinking or smoking, but I'm not judgmental about that. I always enjoy a good party and I looove dancing!!
I'm vegetarian, but I do eat fish. Trying to go towards veganism though.Interests

Hospitality:
I have worked in various restaurant in Finland as well as in New Zealand. I have good customer service skills, I'm able to make good coffees and work at the bar.
Working with kids:
I have been working in few different preschools, so I'm used to being around little humans and can take care of them.
Rehabilitation:
I'm on my last year or studying occupational therapy, so I have some skills in the rehabilitation area. Even though I don't think these skills will be very helpful in Workaway projects :D
Yoga:
I have a yoga teacher certificate, but I haven't taught in few years. I can still share my knowledge on yoga if wanted :)
Other:
I have a good working attitude and I don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'm physically fit, so hard work doesn't bother me. I have done a lot of different types of volunteer works in the past like: teaching kids English in Myanmar and Thailand, working in a hostel in Laos, helped with garden work and house painting in New Zealand, worked in a permaculture island in Malaysia and done some nature clean up with WWF. All these projects and life in general has thought me a lot of things that are hard to put in words.Age

Alejandro showed me the real lao way of life and was a bridge between me and the locals.
I stayed 5 days and I was working on the rice fields and did some small things in the guesthouse.
The guesthouse is a special place and I hope one day I will be able to come back!
I stayed almost 3 weeks, within those weeks I learned so much about meditation, buddishm and burmese culture.
My daily tasks were alms rounds, washing patients, teaching at the village school and helping with other projects if needed. Some days I was working whole day and some… read more
