I'm currently looking to travel around South East Asia, to learn more about the variety of cultures, and to make meaningful, local, real experiences meanwhile.

Description

I am Alessio, new to workaway, and looking to travel around to discover more about world cultures, take beautiful photographs, meet people, and learn lessons that I'll take with me for a long time. I am motivated by purpose, regardless of what its directed towards, if I have an objective that matters to me, that is enough to motivate me. I try to find happiness in whatever I do, wether its photography, being with my family, social hangouts, relaxing time by myself, drawing, being in nature and with my dog, and other engaging activities of the sort. I enjoy all types of physical activity, hiking, biking, kayaking, and sports such as basketball, volleyball. I travelled around a lot when I was younger, because of my dad's work. Mostly around central and southeast asia. Thanks to my open-minded parents, I've had the opportunity to see places from bustling indonesian fish markets, noisy chinese metropolises, to relaxing white sand islands. Exploring I had the opportunity to see the world through a child's point of view, which has sparked an immense interest and curisotiy that I now want to cultivate. I love finding peculiarities amongst different people, seeing what shapes cultures, traditions, and customs. I had to adapt to a fast-paced change of homes, rythms and friends, and I think this has made me more adaptble to a lot of situations, paired with the fact that I love adventures, I am excited to see what opportunities workaway will create for me.

From an academic point of view, I graduated from an International Baccalaureat school (in Mexico City), and then proceeded to receive a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (In Tilburg, Netherlands). I enjoyed my academic path to a certain degree, but I want to expand my skillset to be able to continuosly grow and learn. Eventually and ideally, for my life's work, I would like to unite my university degree with a purpose I believe in (which is what I'm currently trying to discover). I believe in to a I believe I am good with people, able to perceive how they are feeling and what they need, I am also adaptable to different situations, therefore I can navigate my way through difficult situations. I am a creative person, with a passion for photography, as well as drawing, painting and other forms of hands-on methods of creating. I am very able with most types of technology, as well as social media and that kind of stuff. I also have basic knowledge on how to fix and tinker with things such as bycicles, tools, machinery, and I am very quick to learn.

What else ...

I play all sort of basic italian card games (Scala 40, Macchiavelli, Briscola, Scopa, and I can teach you to play), I am quite good at Uno, and I am able to contain my anger/rage when playing Monopoly. I like playing charades (I did theatre in high school). I like playing a lot of sports, mainly basketball and volleyball, but I'll do most activites just to stay active. I love swimming in the sea, but not in the pool. I love taking pictures as I mentioned, and my favorite subjects are people, a walk around a busy city at dusk with my camera in hand sounds like a perfect way to spend my afternoon/evening. I love hiking, in all sorts of places, mountains, woods, hillside cities, I am able to walk for hours on end (with enough water and food), as long as the views are satisfying my needs. I tell pretty good jokes but NEVER when put on the spot.
