Heading to Australia in June for 3 months ! June & August are my exploring months and July I hope to be with a Workaway host. Let’s connect!

  • Description

Hi! My name is Victoria (29 year old Canadian), and I’m an active, adventurous, and happy person who loves trying new things and meeting people from all walks of life. I’m currently completing my master’s in positive psychology, and in August, I’ll be graduating in Melbourne! I plan to spend June and August traveling through Australia, but I’d love to spend July with a Workaway family, connecting with locals and immersing myself in the culture.

I grew up in a small country town in Quebec, Canada, on an apple orchard that has been in my family for over 100 years. Growing up surrounded by hard work, discipline, and community values has shaped me into someone who loves being helpful and taking on tasks. Harvesting apples with my family gave me a deep appreciation for outdoor work, and I’m no stranger to getting my hands dirty!

I’m also fluent in both French and English, thanks to my Canadian roots. I have a twin sister and two brothers, all entrepreneurs, and a big, supportive family who instilled in me a passion for traveling. Australia will actually be my 35th country! Some of my favorite travel experiences include living in Taiwan for a year to teach English, studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland, exploring seven different Asian countries, and visiting many European destinations. I also love capturing my adventures and making GoPro videos to relive the memories.

Sports and movement have always been a big part of my life. I used to play rugby at the provincial level, but more recently, I’ve been focusing on being mindful with my body, practicing yoga, and diving deeper into meditation. Staying active is still my priority—I love working out, walking, and finding ways to move my body every day.

When I’m not traveling or working out, I enjoy spending time with my big social network, reading, or working on my professional goals. My dream is to one day create and teach a university course on positive psychology because I believe we need to set people up for happiness and success in a world that can often feel stressful.

This will be my first Workaway experience, but after a friend told me about it, I knew it would be the perfect way to immerse myself in local culture, meet amazing people, and contribute in meaningful ways. I’d love to help with tasks like gardening, cooking, organizing, or teaching—I learn fast, and I absolutely love animals too!

I’m so excited to connect with hosts, share stories, and learn from this incredible experience.

With a strong work ethic and a positive, friendly personality, I’m confident I can be both helpful and hardworking as part of your household. My experience as a teacher, working on my family’s apple orchard, studying positive psychology, speaking French, and my openness to cooking all contribute to the support I can offer.
