Hi, I'm Valerie, full of energy to travel to new countries, meet new people and have unforgettable experiences. I am on workaway to make real connections with the people I work for and with, as well as the places and countries I visit.
In 2018, I took a small trip around the world and after the trip I realized that from now on I want to spend more time in places and get to know the people and countries better than while traveling. After that in summer 2019 I made my first workaday experience in Sweden, near the polarcircle, helping a family around the house, with household tasks, like cleaning, washing, cooking and gardening as well as watching the kids from time to time. Therefore I would call myself an allrounder, I am happy to support in any kinds of tasks! :)

I lived in Hamburg for the last two years and realized I am with 24 not ready for my professional career yet. Therefore I quit my job and flat and spent the last 8 weeks in a surf camp in the south of france working. One of my biggest dreams is to live in East Asia for a while, which is why I applied for several master's programs in Tokio, Seoul and Hongkong for next year. Until then I want to explore new countries and I got a work & travel visa for Canada. So excited!

Through my workaway experience in Sweden I know that I feel very comfortable living with a family and supporting them in everyday life, household tasks, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, picking up children from school, working in the garden and things like that. As a child of a single mother with two sisters, I grew up with such tasks and they are a normal part of everyday life for me.
Furthermore, I sew in my spare time as a hobby, which can also help me with workaway, I managed the social media account of my faculty and can handle digital tools very well. I have also worked as a content creator for a few years and photographed products for online stores. I am very much looking forward helping you in every part of daily life where I can! :) Friends would say I am a very enthusiastic person with high motivation, discipline but also knowing how to enjoy life. :)
