  • Description

    Hello !
My name is Tomer and for the last few years i have been travelling around the world with Workaway, accumulating many experiences and meeting a lot of interesting people and various projects. Now, after 15 different projects world wide I can definitely say that workaway has turned into a way of life for me. The reason that i continue to travel through this platform is that for me it's the perfect way to learn about local culture through the local people, gain experience in fields that interest me and feel that I am making a real change in projects that I visit, workaway is all about culture and knowledge exchange, meeting as strangers and departing as friends. In a nutshell it gives me meaning and makes me very happy. I hope one day to have my own project in a land close to nature somewhere. A project that will be open to all, as self sustainable as possible with permaculture, natural building, workshops and community life. All these i have met through the projects I lived in, needless to say that i don't plan to stop anytime soon.
what can I bring to your project?
    - HANDY WORK: I am an experienced WOOD WORKER, a hobby that started through Workaway and has become one of my main loves in life. I built many different projects such as outdoor kitchens, library's, tables, roofs, dog houses, creative wood work projects (you can see projects i built in the photos), on top of that i returned home and did a full course about furniture building which improved me a lot. If i don't know how to build something, I watch youtube until i can build it.
during my travels in Greece I learned METAL WORKING (thanks Wolfgang) including welding, grinding, metal painting, the whole deal. I can definitely start tackling projects on this front if you have the right tools.
in General i can help with concrete projects (did a lot) and whatever you need really, i am happy to learn and absorb more.
    - COOKING: I have been cooking since i was very young, I love it. I Worked in professional kitchens as a cook and learned a lot about farm to table food, presentation and taste. On top of that I worked in community's in costa Rica and Italy, and cooked food for groups between 25-80 people.
    - GARDENING AND PERMACULTURE: I learned a lot through the different projects I visited, a lot of permaculture and self sustainably. fruit forests, fields, gardens, trees of many kinds. I also worked in agriculture back home (date plantations). I'm eager to learn and to help progress your garden!
    - COMMUNITY LIFE: During my travels i spent time in many community's around the world, learning how to be conscious of others needs, supporting those that surround me and being a team player. I feel that I have become a more round person, confident of my self and supportive of the people around me.
    - CULTURAL EXCHANGE: I would love to exchange stories, ideas, views, experiences and knowledge. As i grow as a person I absorb all these from the people around me and develop myself. I come to listen, to share and to find out new things from people that are similar to me or completely different from me. I also have some interesting stories and experiences to share from my travels.

    * You can see at the end of my photos more reviews (Serbia, Greece, Portugal) from my couple account of me and my partner at the time FAE if you're still not sure :)

To conclude I would love to keep travelling with Workaway, helping projects grow and forming a network of same minded people. I want to keep evolving and becoming better in many areas on my journey towards self sustainability.

Sending Warm hugs, hope to see you soon!

When I finished high school I joined the army and served 4 years in the navy core, in the submarine fleet. I learned how to work hard and how to work in a team. I acquired discipline and maturity, and came out strong and capable.
After I got out of the army I worked in agriculture for 6 months in the desert, mainly in date plantations, but also in educational green houses where we grew many different crops (while teaching children and teenagers of our work) and construction. I worked in a young environment with other great people and made a lot of new friends. this chapter made me work hard and long hours, and strengthened my personality and allowed me to understand more about myself.

To conclude, I am a young, strong positive person. I am a quick learner and not a stranger to physical work and adapting to new social dynamics. I come willing to lend a hand in whatever is necessary by the host.
