Hi everyone! I'm Timur, a communications engineer and a recent graduate of Moscow University of Communications and Informatics. For the last 6 years I have been actively hitchhiking in Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Armenia, and now I decided to stay in new places for a longer period of time to get to know the culture, people, values and language better, and volunteer projects are perfect for this purpose.

I have spent the last 4 months in Kazakhstan where I first time volunteered as a hostel administrator. I learned how the hotel business works from the inside, met a bunch of solo travelers, toured the most interesting places near Almaty with a tent. It was a wonderful adventure and since February I decided to move on. My next destination is Uzbekistan.

I speak Russian fluently. In 2016 I graduated from English school at C1 level, but the last years I had little practice and now I estimate my knowledge at B1 level. During my freshman year, I did English tutoring with students of different grades. Now I have actively started to regain my knowledge in English and in the future I plan to learn Spanish.

I worked as a server and network engineer for 5 years, now my level is middle network engineer.
I can figure out a computer or router problem and solve it.
I also did wood carving and besides the skill to carve beautiful figures there I learned carpentry craft. I helped my father to build a bathhouse and paint the house at the dacha, as a temporary job I participated in the construction of fountains in Moscow parks.
It's been 6 years since I moved away from my parents, so I have mastered the skills of independent life: I can and love to cook, I can keep the house in order, I know how to use the washing machine :)
I can write simple scripts and bots in python, can work with sql databases, install OS and configure networks.
I play ukulele, it makes traveling much more fun.

I love outdoor adventures and camping with a tent.
I do yoga in the mornings, it helps improve my physical and mental well-being.
Sometimes I go out for a short jog to keep active.
I love playing board games, my favorites are Alias, Jackal: Treasure Island, Mafia, Imaginarium, Uno, Jenga, Ticket to Ride: Europe.
I also enjoy table tennis and sometimes play volleyball.
