Description
Hi, I’m Astrid, a 24 year-old Dane living in Lisbon and currently travelling Brazil for two months. I’ve only just started my journey and I love it so far!
I’m fluent in English if needed, but it would be wonderful to challenge myself to only speak Portuguese for a period of time.
I’ve workawayed before when travelling in Australia with my sister. Here, we helped with tasks around the house and in the garden, and one place we helped take care of wild bats in the rainforest.
I’m fond of workaway because I believe in sharing work and opening your home for other people
I’d love to experience Brazil in a more authentic way than traveling from hostel to hostel. I would like to get to know the local people and surroundings, and I would happily help you with any kind of work.
I’m very open-minded and adventurous, and in between work hours I’m interested in exploring nature, hiking and sharing knowledge about yoga, acro-yoga and music.
I have used volunteering as a way of travelling many times before, as I really like to settle a bit in a spot while travelling and to have the opportunity to meet inspiring people, as this - along with experiencing beautiful nature - is one of my main reasons for travelling.
I love greeting new cultures and exploring the world since it's a great way to learn more about both myself, other people and their different views on life.Interests

We are both enthusiastic about meeting new people and eager to join your everyday life and work for a while, since we think this is an absolutely great way to travel and learn new stuff.
Thea: I study linguistics at the University of Aarhus and live in a community of 10 people with 5 chickens and therefore I'm used to gardening and tending to an old house. I'd like to learn more about gardening and self-provision and I'm always up for improving her handyman-skills - though I already feel like I'm getting at it :-) As a hobby I do acro-yoga and would be more than happy to share my skills with you or join you for a jam!
I have volunteered in eco-villages and nature conservation projects before and I'm very eager to learn more of this lifestyle.
Astrid: I am taking gap years while attending a pre-conservatory music school in Aarhus. I play the saxophone and the piano and ukulele, too, but I'm into learning any new instrument. Even though I'm young I have already travelled a lot on my own/without parents, and I've always been told that I'm very mature and responsible for my age. I'm into any kind and aspect of music and love discussing it/singing/dancing and so on, and I have discovered an interest in meditation, yoga and salsa dancing which I would like to explore even more.Age

What else ...
I love hiking in nature, swimming and playing music! I practice yoga regularly, read books and researching on vocal techniques (I recently started working as a conductor for a small choir)

Both girls were/are so kind, friendly, helpful and easy to get along with.
They helped around the garden and Thea cooked some beautiful meals and made my shed smell and feel homely.
