  • Description

Hello, my name is Stella, I'm 18 years old and I graduated from high school in June last year. I'm from Hamburg, Germany and last September I moved out into the world. I was in Indonesia for seven weeks, one month I was in Lombok and took part in a turtle project where it was about finding the eggs and raising the hatched turtles. And the last three weeks I spend in Bali. I am a big animal lover and it amazes me to discover new animals and learn about new species. Nature is also a big part of my free time. I like to go to the beach to surf and dive. As well as in the water, I also like to do sports on land. I play volleyball and a lot of table tennis. I also like to paint and draw in my spare time, alone or in different classes.

I’m someone who genuinely loves connecting with both people and the natural world around me. Last year, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer in Indonesia, where I helped rescue and care for turtles, nurturing them until they were ready to be released back into the wild. I also helped in an elementary school, to help them teach English and improving their skills. This experience taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and the importance of caring for animals and our environment. I’m also a trained lifeguard, which not only gave me strong problem-solving skills but also taught me how to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations, it definitely also helped when babysitting and taking care of children —a skill I put to good use during my exchange year in Canada. Outside of work, I’m all about creativity and staying active. I love painting, sketching, and upcycling clothes, which allows me to express myself and stay resourceful. I’m also passionate about sports—whether it’s skiing, volleyball, surfing, or ping pong, I’m always up for a new challenge and enjoy the energy of being active. I’ve worked in hospitality, helping at events like weddings and company parties, which has strengthened my communication skills and my ability to stay adaptable in social settings. I’m a very patient and open-minded person, always eager to lend a hand and get involved, whether it’s helping a teammate or walking my dog through the park. I’ve traveled a lot, which has broadened my understanding of different cultures and taught me how to work with people from all walks of life. At the end of the day, I’m someone who’s resilient, responsible, and always ready to contribute—whether that’s through my skills or just offering a friendly hand. I'm always up for a laugh and joking around with people. Humor and being able to laugh together is the most important thing for me.

  • What else ...

I’m really looking forward to all the new adventures that lie ahead and the wonderful people I will meet along the way. There’s something truly exciting about embracing new experiences, and I’m ready to dive into everything this journey has to offer. I’m particularly excited about the chance to improve my surfing skills, and I’m open to learning from others, whether it’s through tips, suggestions, or simply observing different techniques. It’s always rewarding to see how others approach challenges and to incorporate those insights into my own practice.

In addition to surfing, I’m also thrilled by the idea of connecting through interactive activities like board games and card games. Games like Rummy, Werewolf, and Uno are some of my favorites because they’re not just fun—they’re a great way to get to know people and create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I believe that playing games together is one of the best ways to break the ice and start building meaningful connections.

Beyond that, sharing my talents and passions with others is something that really excites me. Whether it’s through creativity, sports, or simple acts of kindness, I love inspiring people and sparking joy in those around me. At the same time, I’m always eager to learn new things and try out fresh experiences that others can teach me. This journey is all about mutual growth, and I can’t wait to discover and explore new perspectives along the way.
