  • Description

I’m going to finish school this year and, like many students, I want to “travel the world and meet new people.” But I don’t just want to see and visit new places — I really want to experience different parts of the world.
I had the luck living in Tunisia and Bolivia as a child/teenager and getting to know cultures that were completely new to me. So even though I was quite young at the time, I know what a big impact it can have to live in a foreign country for a while. Having daily encounters with locals, learning about their traditions and lifestyle, and simply experiencing what it’s like to actually live there — that was something truly special for me.
I believe and hope that through Workaway, I can experience this again — this time as a young adult who doesn’t really have a fixed plan for his life yet ;) I want to go out into the world, discover places I know little or nothing about, and meet incredible people along the way. Just from reading reviews by other Workawayers, I can already tell that this experience will leave a huge mark on my life.
I honestly can’t wait to get started!
    A little about me:
I’m 19 years old and currently living in Germany. I’ve trained to become a snowboard instructor, so I enjoy working with and teaching children and teenagers. I went to a Waldorf school, which means I was lucky to have had practical subjects like woodworking, stone carving, copper work, and more. I also did several internships during school — on a farm, in a metal workshop, with a forestry team, and at a ski/snowboard school.
I love thrilling experiences, like tramping or hiking without knowing where I’ll spend the night. But I also really enjoy art and creating things with my hands. Thanks to my school, I was able to explore different art forms and try out various techniques. I’d say I like a mix of artistic and adventurous experiences :))

More details about my language interests
I’m interested in learning Spanish. It was actually the first language I spoke — even before German — as I was born in Bolivia. Unfortunately, I’ve forgotten all of it over the years. That’s why I’d love to reconnect with my roots and learn the language again. :) I also wouldn’t mind improving my French. I can understand most of it, but I’m still quite insecure when it comes to speaking.

  • More details about your skills

As mentioned in my profile, I had the opportunity through my school to work with various materials such as wood, copper, and stone. This gave me hands-on experience in renovating, repairing, and also building new things.
Additionally, I completed an internship on a farm, where I gained experience working with animals.
I speak German as my mother tongue and am fluent in English, having spent five years at an American school in Tunisia. I can also speak French at an intermediate level.
Through my experience as a snowboard instructor, I’ve learned what it’s like to work with children and teenagers. While I’m not a professional — I only taught for two seasons — it was a valuable experience that taught me a lot.
Overall, I would say I have some practical and social experience. I’m definitely still learning and don’t consider myself an expert, but I’m eager to learn new things and try out different types of work.

  • What else ...

I could add that I play the saxophone and generally love listening to all kinds of music. Also dancing at bars and in clubs is a lot of fun for me.
Hiking and tramping is something that would catch me instantly. So traveling to cities and visiting museums/theaters/bars or walking through national parks is something I would be down to do!
I’m open to meeting new people and creating amazing memories together :))
