  • Description

Hey there, I'm Sarah! I am a nature and animal lover who is always seeking adventure and new experiences. I am happiest working hard outdoors and with animals but I have no problem helping out around the house or doing indoor work. I love meeting new people, learning new skills, and working as a part of a team, but I am very content working independently as well. I have spent many of my summers working as a backcountry adventure guide, but I'm currently a student in veterinary school in Ontario, Canada, so I am once again yearning for the mountains and hoping to have a bit of a cowboy summer in Alberta or B.C!

I'm a hard worker, fast learner, and have a laidback, happy camper personality (I'm pretty funny too if I do say so myself)! I look forward to chatting and making new connections!

  • More details about your skills

I'm a current veterinary student so I'm skilled in animal care (big and small) and can feed and medicate many animals, and I am happy to help with on-farm procedures like vaccines, deworming, calving/lambing, dehorning, etc.

I am also a certified Wilderness First Responder and have worked for many years as a backcountry hiking/canoe trip guide, and I'm a competent horseback rider, so if you run a guest ranch and need a trail guide, need a backpacking or canoe guide, offer backcountry experiences to guests, or just want a camping buddy I am your girl!

I'm a fairly handy person and if given a little instruction I'm confident I can complete maintenance or basic building tasks. I'm not afraid of outdoor labour!

    Miscellaneous skills:
    - I am very proficient at crochet and although I don't have much time for it I love working on projects when I can and I'm happy to swap yarn and patterns!
    - I have a couple of (decent) card tricks, a couple of campfire songs, and I can recite a poem or two if you're looking for entertainment!

  • What else ...

I'm an avid hiker, birder, snowboarder, and love horseback riding (english, transitioning to western!). I also love card games and board games, sports, crocheting, live music, and swapping stories over tea or by a fire.
