I am currently

Description

I've been travelling for a total of 10years, mainly in South East Asia, Australasia and Central America, teaching English [children to adults] in Thailand, working in back packers/ hostels [reception, bartendering and cleaning] in Australia and New Zealand, packing parachutes [at Drop Zones] in Australia, New Zealand [and The Netherlands]
I enjoy/enjoyed skydiving, bungee jumping, rap jumping, white water rafting and rock climbing, as well as trekking, being on my own watching wild life, keeping active and reading. While travelling I like to learn about the culture, local traditions, try different cuisines and learn about different animals of that country. I am also keen to learn Spanish while in South America.
I have done a bit of voluntary work, working short term in an elephant sanctuary in Thailand and last year volunteered as an Engine Hand for 6 months onboard on of the Mersy Ships. A civilian hospital ship charity, which medically treat people who unable/ too poor to get treatment in their own country's hospitals.
I am an animal lover and so would be keen to work with animals including learning how to treat them for injuries and illnesses.
Also be keen to learn more about conservation and permaculture culture
All of my jobs have been manual/ physical, including painting and general maintenance as a deck hand on a ship, gardening and catering and some DIY in my own time. I'm not much of a cook, but am more than willing to help prep meals.
I enjoy challenges and learning new skills, am easy going and easy to get on with.

I have a TEFL certificate and taught English to pupils from 6 year olds to adults in Thailand for several months
Worked with horses when younger, grooming,feeding and cleaning out the stables.
Had a rescue pet dog, whom I loved dearly and also look after a couple of other friends dogs from time to time
Done a lot of painting and basic maintenance on a ship
Working in hostels/ back packers while travelling; reception, bar tendering, cleaning.
Had a gardening job; watering, weeding, planting and a bit of pruning.
Worked in catering- assisting the chef and food prep.
Learnt basic stick welding last year
Also have a bit of DIY and basic maintenance experience.
I am very practical and enjoy manual labour and being outside and learning new skills

What else ...

I was introduced to a board game called Rumikub while I was volunteering on the ship. It's a fun game to learn, and can be quite adictive. I will be taking it travelling with me.
