Description
I'm Rosie. I'm a happy, motivated and energetic person with a lot of love for the natural world, reading, all forms of movement + exercise (yoga, hiking, running, cycling), surfing, cooking, wild swimming, politics, social justice and communtiy living.
I'm English by nationality, but currently living in Perth, Australia.
Regarding my work experience and what I can bring to the table with avid enthusiasm... I have spent the last two years leading a project in the refugee field where I managed a team and coordinated all aspects of the project. I feel that I have strong sense of initiative and am a good problem-solver, I work well with people and kind and open communication is really important to me :)
By trade, I am a qualfiied arborist (tree surgeon) and surveyor. I have certified qualifications and ample experience in ground work with chainsaws, rigging, tree felling, climbing, pruning, maintaining and planting. I'm a good driver and have experience driving bigger vehicles like trucks and cherry pickers, as well as towing trailers and chippers. So relatively hands on when it comes to outdoor agricultural work - confident, safe and competent working with two-stroke machinery - mowers, saws, trimmers etc. I know some things about building work. I have some experience plastering, painting and decorating, landscaping patios, fence laying. So working with cement and wheeling barrows of hardcore/ballast down narrow alleyways is part of my fourte!
My tree and plant identification is quite good and I know bits around plant biology, but I'm interested to learn more about the thousands of different species native to Australia!! The flora and fauna of Western Australia interests me hugely, I'm loving exploring the natural world, and would love to learn more from my potential hosts.
I have experience working in refugee camps teaching English as a foreign language for a refugee NGO in Lesvos, Greece. I taught refugee and asylum-seeking children and adults.I studied International Relations as a degree and would like to continue with some online courses on topics of global migration and refugee law. I plan to continue studying peace & conflict resolution one day.
I want to learn, explore and feel at home in the spaces that I inhabit. I'm a social butterfly at heart, but also really love spending time alone, to swim in cold water and enjoy silence. I'm eager to learn about farming and living sustainably. Unfortunately, I haven't been bought up in a place with much land to grow anything. But I am fascinated with botany, and the power in plants, alongside everything of the natural world in general. I want to live simply and free. I love being around animals and children too. Nature is my tranquility, and soothes me.
I'm exploring meditation and awareness currently and looking to explore and grow with others here. I have such a strong appreciation and respect for decent cinema. I'm really keen to learn French or Spanish, whichever falls into my world first :)Interests

More details about your skills
By trade I am a tree surgeon and surveyor. So I have certified skills in ground work with chainsaws, tree felling, climbing, pruning, maintaining and planting. My tree and plant identification is quite good and I know bits around plant biology. I studied International Relations as a degree and am now doing online courses on topics of global migration and refugee law. I plan to continue studying peace & conflict resolution one day back in the UK.
I can also teach English as a foreign language. I have been working as an English teacher for a refugee non-governemental organisation in Lesvos. I have taught Congolese children and Afghan & Cameroonian adults. I am not professionally qualified as a teacher but have learnt a lot and come a long way as a self taught teacher. I feel confident and competent as a level 1 & 2 English teacher.
I have small patches of experience in labouring, such as plastering ceilings, painting, pulling up skirting boards, fixing parts of a roof.
I am strong, athletic and persevering.
I am a bit of a wizard with yoga and hula hooping, and can teach classes for both children and adults. In tricks, flows, and isolations.
I have a full UK driving license, and can ride a scooter.
Culinary skills abound! I have great passion and love for creating various concoctions in the kitchen.
I have a fascination with herbs and spices, and cannot wait to learn more and hopefully how to grow my own.
I can navigate my way around computers to some degree!
I want to learn as much as I possibly can, especially when working with wood, animals and growing food!
I am more eager to learn wood work, permaculture/gardening/farming, culinary skills and spending time with children.Age

What else ...
I'm happy, strong and young. I want to learn. That's literally why I am here! :)

She is also skillful, hardworking, self-motivated, reliable, resourceful, and good company.
We look forward to her return and recommend her as a volunteer. The great bonus is that she is a fully skilled tree arbor person, so very confident with power tools and the like!
