  • Description

Hi there! I'm Romi, a 22-year-old boy from Genoa, Italy.
I have a deep passion for the world and its countless cultures, faces, and perspectives. I'm fascinated by the richness of diversity and I’m always eager to learn more about how people live, think, and connect across the globe.
I speak Italian, French, Spanish, and English; languages I've picked up through various international experiences. In the last two years I lived in Costa Rica (where I have been a volunteer),France (where I studied and I worked as receptionist in a hostel) and Greece (with the European Solidarity Corps for humanitarian aid). I'm really greatful to all those experiences because they gave me the chance to immerse myself in different cultures, and helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Travelling around the world made me realize that I’m a dynamic, curious person who enjoys new environments. I love discovering new things, exchanging stories, and meeting people from all walks of life.
I'm looking forward to sharing moments, learning new skills, and helping out wherever I can. Let’s connect!

More details about my language interests
At this point in my life, I can't imagine myself speaking all the time in english, I need and I want to learn Portuguese to talk with locals. I believe that through real-life experiences, cultural exchange, and conversations, I can slowly build that bridge with Brasilian culture.

  • More details about your skills

My skills come from a mix of academic studies and real-life experiences, both professional and personal. I’ve worked in the tourism industry, as a receptionist in an hotel, where I developed strong communication skills, a sense of organization, adaptability, and a real focus on teamwork and customer care. I also had the chance to take part in a humanitarian work project in Athens, supporting vulnerable individuals and communities. That experience helped me grow in empathy, patience, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to listen and connect with people from different backgrounds. It also taught me how to be flexible, emotionally aware, and to handle sensitive situations with care and respect.

I believe both types of experiences—professional and humanitarian—have shaped me into someone who’s open-minded, responsible, and genuinely eager to contribute wherever I can.

  • What else ...

I’m a very versatile person I can enjoy long walks and hikes just as much as quiet evenings spent talking and connecting. Most of the time, I’m quite active: I need to move, create, or do something that keeps me focused and engaged.
I hold a degree in Political Science, and I have a deep interest in decolonial theories and environmentalism. I’m especially curious about how different cultures and societies shape their values, relationships, and ways of living.
I love reflecting on social dynamics, asking questions, and engaging in meaningful conversations that help me grow and see the world through new perspectives.
I truly believe that real learning happens through living, listening, sharing, and staying open to difference. That’s why I’m especially drawn to opportunities where I can meet people from diverse backgrounds and exchange not only work and help, but also ideas and stories.
