Hi! I am from the USA and was born in the state of Arkansas. I tend to be more of a reserved and thoughtful person, but enjoy meeting new people and making genuine connections. I have a background in mechanical engineering and enjoy figuring out how things work. Some of my hobbies are small boat sailing (novice), rock climbing (novice), backpacking/camping, guitar and skiing. I have spent that last couple of years traveling and living in various parts of the USA working both seasonally (ski instructor, lift operator, backpacking guide) and full time as an engineer.
My interest in joining Workaway is to push myself beyond the USA and immerse myself in local cultures. Along the way I hope to make new friends, learn new skills and pick up new languages.

I like to think that I have a good degree of common sense and can figure out most things especially if there is access to the internet or a library. I grew up on a small farm and have laid fence, raised chickens/cows, operated tractors w/attachments and performed various other farm work. I also perform all of my own automotive work and have performed small engine troubleshooting/repair. I also have done home repairs.
Over the last couple of years I have worked in a couple of public facing jobs such as backpack guiding in New Mexico and ski instructing at various resorts.
