Kia ora! We are a motivated young couple who have embarked on our travels to discover more about the world, and the people in it. We both have studied and worked in environmental sustainability, the humanities and arts, and learning about cultures, uplifting other humans and the world, and learning new skills are incredibly important to us. We love trying new things and are not afraid to get our hands dirty or put the work in to learn new skillsets! We have a particular passion for nature based or indigenous cultures, practices and arts, as Mikaere is indigenous to Aotearoa New Zealand, and both of us are always looking to connect to the world in our own ways. We love to learn anything and everything, so we're looking forward to interacting with the amazing people on Workaway!

Mikaere is constantly learning and adding languages to his tool belt, he is particularly interested in any first nations languages, but has dabbled in many other languages across different continents. He is also fluent in Māori and loves to share the language. Ra also has an interest in languages, but can't claim fluency in any other than English.

What else ...

We are both super interested in music and art, and spend a lot of our time creating both, but we also love to be outside hiking and camping. As mentioned before, we love to learn, and this includes everything! Recently we've been doing lots of fishing, carving, learning about Canadian history, animals, plants. We are both super curious, and love to learn about other peoples passions too!
