I am 18 years old and have just finished German high school. Since then, I have traveled with friends, and now I am working in different jobs: an organic supermarket, a beer tavern and the site crew and the bar for openair concerts.
In general I am a curious, openminded and friendly person. In addition, my friends consider me as reliable, well organized and funny. Another aspect about myself is that I like cooking and baking. I also really like nature, therefore I regularly go hiking and I enjoy gardening. I find working outside and „with my hands“ incredibly fulfilling. I enjoy getting to know and talking to people and learning about their lifestyles and habits. This is one reason why I love traveling. Workaway will not be my first experience going abroad by myself because I participated in multiple student exchanges.
One of my favorite hobbies is music: I have been playing the piano since I was six years old, the saxophone since I was eight, and I love singing in the choir. Some of my other interests are reading, yoga, and everything about history.
The main reason I want to do workaway is because I want to get to know the world around me better, as well as myself in that world. Traveling to another country, meeting new people and experiencing a different lifestyle from what I am used to seems to me the perfect way to expand my perspective on the world.

More details about my language interests
In school, languages were always some of my favorite and my best subjects. I participated in a three month long student exchange to France when I was 14 years old and have spent multiple school holidays abroad in language schools. The aspect of learning foreign languages that I am most excited about is the cultural exchange that takes place with it. Moreover, I am very enthusiastic about my native language (German). I have been helping children with their schoolwork for years and have very much enjoyed it.

Throughout the last couple of years I have worked with children, mostly helping with homework and babysitting. I have experience with children between the age of two and 12 yeas. This is something I really enjoy.
I have been part of a music festival crew (setting up and dismantling the site, bartending at concerts), and I have worked in a grocery store and as a waitress. In addition, I have worked with an organization that cares for protected landscapes as an intern. I also have some experience with gardening, cleaning and cooking. In general, I am very cooperative and willing to learn anything.

What else ...

I play lots of board and card games with my friends so I am able to teach about and would love to learn about card games. Another thing that I haven't mentioned yet is that I have some experience with camping, rowing and canoeing.
