Hey there! We're Moriah and Pete.
We are an adventurous married couple looking to have as many unique experiences as we can. We have always had a strong desire to see the world and share happiness and experiences with those around us. We are looking to start our own homestead in the next ten years, so part of our traveling is to choose our location and learn as much as we can about sustainable living. We have already come across many ways to run a farm and would love to learn how your system works for you!
Moriah is a frequent traveler with tons of passion and excitement left to give. She has worked on farms, couchsurfed in tons of places, and cherishes every friendship and adventure she has encountered along the way. In Moriah's eyes, any skill that can be taught is a skill worth learning. She's willing to tackle new challenges and help others overcome their own because to her, working as a community is the best way to grow. Whether she's slacklining, baking, hiking, or just relaxing, she always aims to emanate peace, joy, and adventure in everything that she pursues.
Peter's desire to learn new skills and contribute to projects is a massive driver of his interest in travel. He has spent many years at sea in the Navy and has decided to come dry out on land, though he wouldn't be opposed to working on a sailboat! On deployments, Pete would pass the time with his fellow sailors by entertaining random thoughts, stories, and ways of life. Something that he still is fond of doing with people today. Meticulous and driven while at work, and easygoing and straightforward after hours are perfect ways to describe Pete's nature.Interests

Moriah has spent the past few years engaging in various forms of horticulture, agriculture, and farm work. She is aiming to have a future career in either agriculture or ecology, so she spends parts of her free time reading and educating herself more on these topics. She is also one of the recipients of the WWOOF Future Farmers Agroecology grant for 2023! She loves working with her hands and staying physically active, so she's always willing and ready to help with manual labor projects. She has extensive experience with dairy goats and a huge passion for working with farm animals.
Aside from work-related skills, Moriah also has experience with cooking, baking, nature and outdoor activities, writing, and hand sewing. She's more than willing to help out with any tasks that she can be useful in.
Peter is a bit of jack of all trades when it comes to building projects. He grew up with a fascination with general metalworking and hobby blacksmithing. Pursuing that and other various DIY projects in is workshop before going to school for two years learning weld and machine.
In the service Pete was mainly an electronics technician, with a focus on computer networking and electrical work, but spent a year as a mechanic and six months working on HVAC systems. Upon leaving the military he apprenticed a carpenter and performed general contracting and finish carpentry. Some of the skills he's developed since then have been woodworking, remodeling, framing, concrete laying, and roofing.
Outside of work, Pete enjoys cooking and occasionally whipping up creative cocktails, though sometimes his creativity can be a bit hit or miss. He has some experience homebrewing and would love to get opportunities to do so if a longer stay allows for it.
Both Moriah and Peter have participated in many work exchanges on a variety of farms, and have accrued an admirable skill set in animal husbandry, agriculture, and general farm maintenance and management.Age
