We are Tia and Miksa, a hungarian couple. Tia, 24 years old, is a veterinarian, into art, and animals enjoys reading, meditation and yoga. She has lived in Hungary and the Czech Republic. Miksa, 26, is a digital nomad English teacher, interested in cultures, philosophy, photography and cooking, who has lived in Hungary, Serbia and England. We both love nature and hiking, with an interest in environmental sustainability and cultural/language exchange.
We have both recently started learning Spanish, and want to deepen that knowledge. We are both very enthusiastic about it and would love to learn as much as possible! In our free time we love exploring nature, cities and cultures. We are easy going and love a good adventure.Interests

Miksa: I work as an English teacher, but I have also worked in hospitality as a waiter and bartender, as a photographer, and with children both as a social worker and as a teacher. I love cooking (and I would love to learn to cook local dishes!). I am happy to use any of these skills as your volunteer, but I’m happy to learn and do anything you need help with. All I need is a bit of flexibility in my schedule and good mobile internet coverage/WiFi at your place as I will keep working as an online english teacher, teaching students in european time zones.
Tiana: I love working with animals and building connections with them. This is why I became a veterinarian and a certified dog trainer. Apart from this I have experience working with social media, photography and all sorts of event organisation from summer camps for children and teenagers, to weddings. I have developed organisational and people skills whilst working with a number of people as an assistant in both the veterinary world and in the world of photography and in customer facing roles such as being a receptionist. I also love DIY projects and working with my hands, painting walls is my happy place.Age

What else ...
In our free time, we love exploring new places. We fell in love through our mutual love of travel and we can’t wait to keep exploring. South America will be a completely new part of the world for both of us. We’re really excited.
Tiana: This year after graduating veterinary university, I went on my first volunteer trip to Spain. I had an amazing time learning the language, helping around the garden and doing animal husbandry tasks. During my stay, their pony had some health complications. I was able to help them give the medications every 4 hours. I also taught my hosts how to manage it on their own, once I left. Starting in March, I will be taking part in internships with wildlife rehabilitation in South America. I'm excited to learn more about conservation.
Miksa: I have a deep interest in South America, which comes from the University of Cambridge where I studied Social Sciences, with a focus on Social Anthropology. I wrote my dissertation about the politics and activism of South American indigenous communities in their fight against international mining companies exploiting and ruining their environment. I would love to take my research out of the library and get a first hand experience about this topic. Some more information
