Hello!
My name is Mathilde. I am 25 years old and from Denmark. I recently moved to Mexico City, as I want to improve my Spanish and learn about Mexican and Latin American culture, history, and politics.

I have a bachelor’s degree in International Relations & Diplomacy and have worked for 3 years at an NGO called Pangea Public, z.s. Pangea is an intersectional feminist and queer NGO in Prague, Czechia, focused on education, community building, and advocacy. I am, hence, very familiar with working and living abroad.

In my free time, I like to read, travel, cook, and play board games. I also enjoy teaching and have worked as a teacher for several years, teaching both English and Danish. I am passionate about intersectional feminism, social justice, and politics. I also write poetry, short-stories, and articles when I get the time. As part of my responsibilities in Pangea, I organized a monthly feminist/queer open poetry night called the Sappho Salon. I have also organized book clubs, picnics, movie nights, fashion-shows, fundraisers, parties, and camping trips. I get along with pretty much everyone and have a lot of positive energy.

I can teach both English and Danish. I have taught Danish and English in-person full time for a year at a school in Denmark. I have also taught English part-time online in India and in Czech Republic. I have taught to kids (age 6-10) and young people (age 15-25).

As the overall coordinator and event manager at the NGO Pangea Public, z.s., I have organized numerous events, including more than 20 open mics (60+ people), 3 big fundraisers (400+ people), 2 large parties (600+ people), Prague Pride events, picnics, movie nights, book club meetings, writing workshops, safe sex workshops, camping trips, and more. Hence, I am highly skilled in organizing, budgeting, PR, and hosting events.

I have also been teaching freelance for several years, primarily English but also Danish, art, science, and history. I have taught in person, mostly in Denmark, but also online in India, Armenia, and the Czech Republic.

I have lived abroad since I was 16 — first in Armenia, then in the Czech Republic — and I completed my entire high school and bachelor’s degree abroad. Therefore, I speak and write excellent English.

In addition, I am a positive, outgoing, and energetic person. I get along with almost everyone and am very easy to be around. I enjoy meeting new people and love to challenge myself.

I grew up in a family that loves to travel, so I have been all over the world. Most recently, I was in Belgium for the annual EU Forum on Gender Equality.
I love meeting new people and learning about different cultures and languages. I moved abroad at just 16 to attend a boarding school in Dilijan, Armenia, so I am fortunate to have friends all over the world, including in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. I hope to visit them soon.
