Hello! We are Carina and Marley, we live in Berlin and would love to take a break from the city and spend some time with you all! We are both fun loving and hard working people, and very easy to get along with.

We are both experienced travelers and have separately been all over the world, and would now like to see it together!

Carina is a part time Barista and works in childcare, you’ll often find her knitting, crocheting, or doing yoga.

Marley is a Swim Coach and Mental Health expert, working remotely through video calls.

Both of us agree the best way to travel is to meet real genuine people and let them share their life with us, and ours with them. Both of our passions lie in living an alternative lifestyle, and so we are opting to go through workaway to continue being abroad while also meeting wonderful people with open minds.

Marley: Hey! I have spent a lot of time around water growing up (Collegiate Swim Coaching/Training, Lifeguard Certified) so I offer to share that lifelong passion and expertise with anyone who would like to learn more about it (this also means I am first aid certified)! Have also worked lots of odd jobs in my life along the way which offer up lots of specific skills such as Grounds Keeper (Landscape/Garden -Rewilding/restoration), Hot tub maintenance for a Day Spa, Plumbing, Skills Training and Child Care for troubled kids and led programs at summer camps, and even doing a complete restoration for a warehouse that burned down (Painting, Cleaning, Building, etc).

I got my Bachelors Degree in Psychology in 2021 and since then have been a Mental Health Coach, which I do remotely. Through this I cannot offer specific advice ;), but can of course offer much empathy and love to get in to deep topics about the world! My training is based on eastern philosophy so I enjoy meditation and mindfulness activities. I also Speak German and English.

Carina: Hi! My name is Carina and I grew up in Denmark speaking both German and Danish, but am currently exploring my german roots in Berlin! Since I graduated high school in 2020 I have been focusing on having many different and new life experiences both working wise and travel wise. After attending a Danish højskole I not only experienced how much joy there is in having a close community, but I discovered how much it means to me to learn and grow from others, which is something im very excited about to do more of!
One of my first jobs was working 3 years in a bookstore, which made my interest for books even grow more. I am also a pescatarian so I love cooking and learning new recipes. One of my current jobs is as a barista, so I am fully prepared to make some great coffee in the morning. I also work as a babysitter so I have experience in caring for children for extended periods of time.

One of my favorite things to do in life is travel and being in nature with my friends, like last year I rode bikes along the west coast of Denmark staying in shelters and bathing in the sea (something I will be doing this summer again). My last big trip was five months in Asia with one of my good friends, where our focus was to see nature at the local level and my fondest memories were from activists such as surfing, hiking, and diving.

My interest in various hobbies also lets me share unique skills such as, crochet/knitting, yoga, running, plant care/gardening, general house maintenance, and many travel stories. I am a very active person so I can keep up with kids, as well as very motivated and eager to learn new skills to help. Open for many new experiences!

What else ...

Marley: Grew up in a small art town in the USA, so always interested in exploring the outdoors or creating something. Swim recreationally, or any kind of sport! Interested in learning more cooking too, and practical skills. Avid reader of any genre (hoping for at least 30 books this year, so planning on laying in the sun and doing that in my free time!) I also occasionally do some gaming, whether that be board games or video games.

Carina: I currently have too many hobbies, but my current lineup is crochet/knit as I love the idea of sustainable clothing, and I am trying to keep up with reading. I am trying to get more into baking but my oven is broken, so I would love to use yours. Wanting to learn more about plants, I am keeping mine alive but I’m not sure if that’s just luck. Overall very interested in community and growth!
