Bonjour à tous,

Je m'appelle Marguerite, je suis une française de 30 ans et je me suis inscrite sur le site Workaway dans un but bien précis : donner un sens au tour du monde que nous allons réaliser avec mon conjoint, Julien.

Etant convaincus que le voyage se vit en premier par les échanges culturels et humains, nous souhaiterions pouvoir profiter de ce tour du monde pour s'intégrer auprès des résidents et leur apporter notre aide au quotidien.

Nous sommes des aventuriers dans l'âme. Nous adorons voyager, d'ailleurs nous avons déjà chacun parcouru quelques pays du monde en sac à dos. Julien a déjà apporté son aide lors de workaway au Canada. Pour ma part, je n'ai pas encore d'expérience en workaway mais il me tarde de découvrir cette façon de voyager.

Nous sommes tous les deux curieux, à l'écoute des autres et dynamiques. Les gens disent souvent de nous que nous sommes des caméléons : nous arrivons à nous adapter à pas mal de milieux différents et adorons apprendre de nouvelles choses.

Dans la vie, nous travaillons tous les deux dans le domaine de l'eau potable, dans la régie des eaux de la ville de Paris. Notre mission au quotidien : s'assurer que l'eau potable arrive aux robinets des parisiens. Forts de cette expérience de service public, et après quelques années à travailler, nous partons 8 mois en tour du monde afin d'en découvrir, encore plus, sur la beauté du monde qui nous entoure.

Hello everyone,

My name is Marguerite, I am a 30-year-old Frenchwoman and I registered on the Workaway site for a very specific purpose: to give meaning to the world tour that we are going to do with my partner, Julien.

Being convinced that the journey is lived first and foremost through cultural and human exchanges, we would like to be able to take advantage of this world tour to integrate with the residents and bring them our help on a daily basis.

We are adventurers at heart. We love to travel, moreover we have each already traveled some countries of the world in backpack. Julien has already helped during workaways in Canada. Personally, I don't have any workaway experience yet, but I can't wait to discover this way of traveling.

We are both curious, attentive to others and dynamic. People often say of us that we are chameleons: we manage to adapt to a lot of different backgrounds and love to learn new things.

In life, we both work in the field of drinking water, in the water authority of the city of Paris. Our daily mission: to ensure that drinking water reaches the taps of Parisians. Armed with this experience of public service, and after a few years of working, we are going on an 8-month trip around the world to discover even more about the beauty of the world around us.

Nous travaillons tous les deux dans le domaine de l'eau potable, je m'occupe particulièrement de la gestion de projet, et Julien encadre des travaux de renouvellement de canalisation. Je suis ingénieur de formation, et Julien est technicien.

Avant de travailler dans le domaine de l'eau, Julien a été pompier pendant 10 ans. Etre au service des autres, c'était son métier pendant tout ce temps.

Le français est notre langue maternelle.
Je parle Anglais et Espagnol couramment.
Julien a un niveau d'anglais intermédiaire : il peut tenir une conversation sans problème.

Dans la vie, Julien est un bon bricoleur : il sait s'occuper de tous les travaux de la maison et a déjà construit un plancher lors de son expérience en workaway au Canada. Il a également aidé un hôte en tant que bucheron.

En ce qui me concerne, je suis une bonne cuisinière et j'aime également beaucoup m'occuper du jardin et des plantes. Lors d'une mission en Afrique, j'ai pu assister des médecins pour la prise de tension des patients, de leur poids, etc ... j'avais également aidé à réaliser des latrines en maçonnerie.

Nous avons également déjà servi derrière un bar, fait du ménage lors d'évènements associatifs, etc...

We both work in the field of drinking water, I am particularly in charge of project management, and Julien supervises pipeline renewal work. I am an engineer by training, and Julien is a technician.

Before working in the water sector, Julien was a firefighter for 10 years. Being at the service of others was his job all this time.

French is our mother tongue.
I speak English and Spanish fluently.
Julien has an intermediate level of English: he can hold a conversation without any problem.

In life, Julien is a good handyman: he knows how to take care of all the work around the house and has already built a floor during his workaway experience in Canada. He also helped a host as a lumberjack.

As for me, I am a good cook and I also really like to take care of the garden and the plants. During a mission in Africa, I was able to assist doctors in taking patients' blood pressure, their weight, etc. I had also helped to build masonry latrines.

We have also already served behind a bar, cleaned up at association events, etc...

Nous adorons le rugby, nous jouons au touch rugby tous les deux et nous ne manquons aucun match de l'équipe de France !
