Hello! :)

I am Mar, a citizen of the world, originally from Barcelona, Spain, but I have lived here and there and am currently based in England. I am a super curious soul (some call me a restless ass) and I am constantly looking to get out of my comfort zone: explore and experience emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually, everything beautiful that this world can offer to us. I never get tired of learning.

While traveling, my mantra is Watch, Listen, Learn and Teach. I usually travel alone, although I love meeting new people and I am passionate about offering my time and love to children and the most vulnerable people.

I studied Industrial Design Engineering and then specialized in Packaging Engineering, so I have a great knowledge of materials and processes. But above everything else, I love everything that has to do with crafts, performing arts and building things with my own hands (DIY). I also have a Master in Project Management.

I feel lucky to have been able to partake in two volunteering journeys.
4 months in Kathmandu, Nepal, in a community center for children and adults. Providing support to the direction and management of the NGO, carrying out awareness-raising and training workshops in Circular Economy in the Youth Program (11 - 16 years old) and giving Literacy classes to women.

And 2 months in Máncora, Peru, at the Apneyo Divino Niño Jesús school for children with special needs. Where I taught Art, English, Mathematics, Physical Education, and Reading Comprehension to the 1st Grade class (6-8 years old).

Soy Mar, una ciudadana del mundo, originalmente de Barcelona, Spain, pero he vivido aquí y allí y actualmente estoy establecida en Inglaterra. Soy un alma super curiosa (me llaman culo inquieto) y busco constantemente salir de mi zona de confort: explorar y experimentar emocional-, física-, intelectual- y espiritual- MENTE todo lo bonito que este mundo nos puede proporcionar. No me canso de aprender.

Mientras viajo, mi mantra es Observa, Escucha, Aprende y Enseña. Suelo viajar sola, aunque adoro conocer gente nueva y me apasiona poder ofrecer mi tiempo y amor a niños y personas más vulnerables.

Estudié Ingeniería en Diseño Industrial y luego me especialicé en Ingeniería de Packaging, por lo que tengo conocimiento de materiales y procesos, y sobretodo, me encanta todo lo que tenga que ver con las manualidades, artes escénicas y construir cosas con mis propias manos. También tengo un Master en Gestión de Proyectos.

Hasta la fecha me siento afortunada de poder haber realizado dos voluntariados.
4 meses en Kathmandú, Nepal, en un centro comunitario para niños y adultos. Dando soporte a la dirección y gestión de la ONG, realizando talleres de sensibilización y formación en Economía Circular en el Programa de Jóvenes (11 - 16 años) y dando clases de Alfabetización a mujeres.

Y 2 meses en Máncora, Perú, en la escuela para niños con necesidades especiales Apneyo Divino Niño Jesús. Donde daba clases de Arte, Inglés, Matemáticas, Educación Física, Comprensión Lectora a la clase de 1r Grado (6-8 años).

Tuve la suerte de estudiar una carrera muy divertida y compleja: ingeniería en Diseño Industrial (Diseño de Producto). Por lo que podría decir que soy una persona muy creativa, conozco las propiedades de los materiales y procesos de producción, y se me dan muy bien las manualidades :). además, siempre intento que mis diseños o creaciones sean sostenibles / environmental friendly, y tengo formación en economía Circular (y un proyecto muy bonito en Nepal, donde realizamos un huerto urbano con materiales reciclados).

Por otro lado, me apasionan los deportes y el baile (he practicado ballet durante más de 20 años) y siempre tengo energía para cualquier actividad física.
