Hello! My name is Maike, I'm 29 years old and from Germany.

I recently spent almost three months volunteering at a holiday accommodation in Portugal that hosted family holidays and yoga retreats. My tasks included preparing breakfast, helping in the kitchen for dinner nights (pizza making became my specialty 😉), cleaning the pool, keeping shared areas tidy, walking the dogs, and occasionally looking after their child. What I loved most was the sense of community and meeting amazing people from around the world.

I am now looking for more opportunities, particularly within the yoga retreat industry or small accommodation projects. However, I am also interested in projects related to nature conservation and animal welfare. I enjoy yoga, dancing, being outdoors and connecting with others.

For 14 years, I cared for my horse in all weathers, which deepened my love for nature and taught me resilience.

I have a diverse skill set, including extensive experience in animal care, particularly with horses and dogs. I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and have some experience in setting up fences and painting wood. Since my horse lived outdoors 24/7 in recent years, I’ve had to come up with all sorts of practical solutions.

Although I don’t have much knowledge about gardening and farming yet, I’m eager to learn, especially about growing vegetables, herbs, and fruits. My previous corporate roles have equipped me with strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a service-oriented mindset. I connect easily with people, learn quickly, and am capable of teaching myself new skills.

I hold a valid driver’s license and can drive manual cars.
