Description

We are Maaike and Barış, a Dutch-Kurdish couple. We lived in The Hague (Netherlands) last year, but now left our careers to start a journey of meaning. We will travel by bicycle to visit places where we can learn about farming/permaculture and different types of communities. Since mid-September we are on the way, passing through Belgium and France (following the pilgrimage road to Santiago) towards Spain (we would like to visit Barcelona and Andalusia) and Portugal

We are looking for ways to keep our hearth with faith and strength. We are seeking to find harmony with our being and surrounding, that we couldn’t find in the fast consuming society. We are wishing to reduce the speed of the life and have a clarity in our faith.

We are happy to be here finding opportunity to meet with your existence on our dearly journey.

Experience we bring:
Barış worked for a few months on different organic farms in Germany, learning about biodynamic and market garden farming. His educational background is in navigational engineering, his professional experience is in sales and sea navigation (captain).
Maaike has experience in gardening, vermicomposting and all kind of DIY work (plumbing, plastering, some carpentry). Her educational background is in philosophy and professionally she used to work for NGO's on refugee issues (legal work and project management).

We both speak English fluently, Barış additionally speaks Turkish and Kurdish, Maaike Dutch,

It is our dream to start a social farm project in the Middle East.
