Description
Hello, I'm Lukas.
After finishing school in 2020, I worked in my hometown as a Machinist for three years. The pay was good, and it was a secure position for the future, but I wasn't happy there. Every vacation, I headed out alone into nature, where I could truly breathe, and so I decided it was time for a change. And from what I can say, it was the best decision of my life. Over the past year, thanks to Workaway, my life has turned upside down. I’ve learned many useful skills, met great people from all over the world, and found an amazing seasonal job as a beach cleaner in Norway.
I'm a very non-confrontational person and not afraid to get my hands dirty in any kind of work. Over the past few years, I’ve been involved in the complete renovation of our old house with my dad, as well as in major renovation projects at a Norwegian campsite so I'm comfortable working with various tools, and whatever I don't know, I'm happy to learn.
Thanks to my five years of experience as a summer camp leader, I have a lot of experience with kids. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot experience with animals, but I'm very eager to learn about work with them.
Currently, I work as a beach cleaner for NMF (a well-established environmental NGO in Norway). It's a tough job, often carried out in harsh natural conditions, and I absolutely love it.
My main hobbies are hiking, backpacking, hitchhikeing,various sports, and during downtime, I really enjoy reading.
I have no long-term plan other than starting to live my life to the fullest and experiencing a few hardships along the way.
