New Zealand - from Jul 2025 until Jul 2026 View allDescription
Hello ! We are Jeanne and Loïc, a French couple who decided to change their life by going to the other side of the world.
About us, we are both degree qualified as engineers since 2023 and have worked as environmental (Jeanne) and chemical & process (Loïc) engineers for several months in France before leaving for travelling. After 6 months of backpacking in South-East Asia we are now travelling around New Zealand with our van. We are willing to spend time in different places to help, to meet new people and to learn from these shared experiences.
We both share love for nature and outdoor activities, such as hiking, gardening, growing fruits and vegetables. We also love to cook, this is one of the things we missed the most in Asia and that we're happy to practice again in New Zealand. We like calm activities such as reading, playing board games and manual activities. Jeanne would love to learn about weaving, sewing or pottery... Loïc has a bit of knowledge about DIY and is willing to learn a lot more. We finished our trip in Indonesia by working on the construction of guest accommodation with natural materials such as bamboo and wood.
Our dream is to build our own eco-project in France, by building our own house and garden. One of our main goals in New-Zealand is to acquire as much knowledge as possible in relation to our project before returning to France.Interests

Our experience as engineers shows our ability to work autonomously but also part of a team, so we can adapt accordingly. Our main take-away from engineering studies is that we can learn quickly and on the spot while paying attention to details.
Jeanne :
- Environmental ingeneer, I worked for one year in a company where I worked on treatment of polluted soils. I know the challenges of environmental preservation and sustainable development.
- At home, I used to observe and help my family on the fruits and vegetables garden and the wooden house in a permaculture approach.
- I also have a few knowledge about vineyard work such as preparing for the harvesting season
Loïc :
- Chemical and physical engineer, I worked for one year in a company where I worked on industrial processes and chemical formulation.
- In parallel with this, I did odd jobs by myself like djing in bars and reselling clothes. I was also trained as a house painter by my father. During my engineering school, I was in charge of leading the university life.
We are both eager to develop new skills in contact with humans and nature and to be able to help in your projects.Age
