Hey future host! We’re Lion and Thore and we can’t wait to get to know you and become part of your life in Canada! We’ve been best friends for many years and both graduated from high school in Germany last summer. After graduating, we wanted to go on an adventure and figured that Canada would be the perfect place with its breathtaking beauty and its variety of different landscapes and communities!

We flew to Toronto last Juli and worked in Santa’s Village, a Christmas themed adventure park in Muskoka, Ontario for 5 weeks, working as line cooks as well as waiters and cashiers. Afterwards, Thore worked in Mongolia as a German and English teacher at a local high school for 6 months. He learned to embrace a foreign language and culture and really enjoyed broadening his horizon. Lion has been working as an Au Pair in Hamilton, Ontario for 7 months and has had a great time looking after a two year old girl and a four year old boy while also attending university classes in economics and applied math. He’s had the privilege of experiencing Canadian culture and the famous Canadian hospitality first hand. Lion has found a loving second family in Canada who he will definitely stay in touch with and who he'll miss very much. He is very thankful to have met so many wonderful people and has made what he is hoping to be lifelong friendships. Traveling different countries has truly made us believe in the power of cultural exchange and the mutual benefits that come from connecting with people with different backgrounds.

We finally reunited in March as Thore flew back to Canada! As Lions Au Pair work is coming to an end in April, we are now starting a new chapter of our journey together! We'd love to further embrace the Canadian way of life, discover hidden talents and passions as well as making many new friends! We're looking forward to becoming part of your life and can't wait for you to be part of ours!

We are both outgoing, curious and very eager to meet new people, make friends and broaden our cultural horizon. We love to learn, exchange ideas and to challenge ourselves. When encountering a problem, neither of us stops until we're content with the outcome. Being reliable, responsible and quick studies are other qualities that we would use to describe ourselves. We are also team players and really enjoy working in groups and combining our knowledge and our strengths.

Moreover, we've learned so much since leaving Germany eight months ago! Above all, we each became more independent and adaptable. It's been a wonderful time and we can't wait for you to be a part of our next adventure :)

We're also not afraid of getting our hands dirty :) We're passionate about gardening and have completed quite a few DIY projects at home ourselves (e.g. remodeling the attic, painting work and building a banister for stairs). We also love pets! Thore even has a dog and two cats at home in Germany who he misses very much. While attending high school in Germany, Thore worked as a cashier in a local grocery store. In the meantime, Lion had a lot of fun tutoring high school students in German. Besides that, we are experienced drivers. Lion has a Canadian driver's license and Thore worked as a shuttle driver for multiple youth organizations in Germany.

In addition, we both had English lessons at school for 10 years and have been able to further improve our English skills in the past months. We also attended French classes for five years in high school but do have to admit that our French has become a little rusty :)
