Description

Hi we are Lillie and Sophie; a Carpenter and an Accountant from England. Both 27 years old and currently travelling through South America.

Being able to work with and give back to the communities and cultures that welcome us is what we want from our travels. We would like to leave behind a positive impact wherever we stay. We are both learning Spanish with the hope to become fluent. The environment and living sustainability is important to us.

We want to complete Workaways to learn more about the people, the culture and the nature of South America. We hope to gain new skills and experiences whilst hopefully passing on some of our own knowledge along the way. The idea of somewhere remote without home comforts really appeals to us. We will work hard to be of value to whoever we stay with!

I (Sophie) love all forms of sport and outdoors activities and would also love to gain more knowledge of local building techniques and plants/farming. I love physical work and working with my hands. I train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and have a love for animals. I have volunteered for local projects in the UK.

I (Lillie) also love sport and want to learn more about permaculture and local practices. I have a real love for animals and really enjoy caring for them. Whenever I take part in a task I don’t stop until it’s done! I love playing football and am interested in understanding local culture more.

Sophie: I have 4 years experience in Carpentry and Construction. Prior to that I was a Gardener and I have also completed several months of farm work whilst in Australia. I enjoy all forms of practical work and I am used to working in all weathers; from -10 in Norway to 40 degrees in Australia. I am particularly interested in learning local building techniques or about permaculture.

Lillie: I am a qualified accountant and have experience in being solely responsible for running and streamlining a large business. I am great with IT and working with numbers in general. I also work very well with people and have a natural ability to work well with animals.

We both work well together but also are happy to be working independently from each other or with other volenteers. We are also keen to work and help with things currently outside of our skill sets.
