Born in the Netherlands and raised in New Zealand, I have a passion for travelling authentically. At 16 years old I started my Tourism management studies (diploma) and at
18 years old I left my home town to experience all that the world has to offer. I travel freely with just my backpack, making connections and memories at every destination. I enjoy changing up my travels by volunteering through Workaway as it allows me to develop a small community within a new area, gain a better understanding of a lifestyle and form deeper connections with travellers and locals. I'm passionate about learning new things as well as sharing my own skills such as artistic creativity (drawing, painting murals, hairstyling, sewing).

I'm interested in teaching English around the world! When I was 16, I spent 3 weeks teaching English to a Kindergarten class in Indonesia and it was an incredible experience. I also recently spent 3 weeks teaching English to a primary school in Kenya!

I grew up working for my family's business, where I taught children how to ice skate all over New Zealand. Later on I developed a passion for my artistic side, which was drawing portraits/ realism. These drawings I sell all over the world while I travel, and have since taught dozens of art classes for children aged 8-13 as well. Ever since I was younger, I also loved doing hairstyling so when I babysit families and children, I always love to braid beautiful hairstyle in the kid's hair! And lastly whilst travelling, I like to make an effort to run frequently for general exercise. These allows me to see a city at a faster pace, whilst keeping myself healthy!

Smiling is a language within itself, I truely believe if you travel the world with a smile, you will face little language barrier. My happy place is sharing my creativity around the world, such as painting murals and teaching art. I enjoy authentic people with real conversations, discussions about life and meaning while also being a relaxed and go- with- the- flow person :)

I spent 3 weeks volunteering here staying with Mama Jane and it was just incredible! The volunteer rooms are comfortable with privacy, and the home cooked food was too good.
