  • Description

Hi! I’m Kayleigh, an experienced and outgoing traveler with a strong background in animal welfare.
Being an animal advocate and helping animals in need is my biggest passion—animal welfare is at the heart of everything I do. I care deeply about sustainability, culture, and experiencing the world, always looking to learn and grow along the way.

I have a Master’s in Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare and have worked with a wide variety of animals, including horses, wildlife, domestic animals, and farm animals. My experience covers training, rehabilitation, enrichment, and general welfare, and I love contributing my skills to ethical and sustainable projects.

Alongside animal care, I have social media and communications experience to assist with content creation, marketing, and outreach. I’ve also worked in reception and customer-facing roles, making me well-suited for guest interactions, administrative tasks, and keeping things running smoothly.

I enjoy working as part of a team, learning from new experiences, and connecting with people from different backgrounds. Whether I’m helping animals, assisting with digital projects, or supporting day-to-day operations, I bring a hardworking, adaptable, and positive attitude to everything I do.

I love yoga and fitness, and I’m proudly vegan for the animals. I’m fun, outgoing, and always up for a laugh, whether it’s socialising over games, a drink, or a coffee date, or just enjoying a relaxed evening. I appreciate my own company but also love meeting new people and making connections.

The sun and the waves bring me so much joy—there’s nothing better than watching a sunset, reflecting on the day, and embracing the moment.

Traveling and working in new environments is something I truly enjoy, and I’m always keen to be part of projects that make a difference. If you're looking for a dedicated and versatile Workawayer, I'd love to hear more about your project!

More details about my language interests
I love immersing myself in new cultures, and part of that is learning different languages. While I’m not fluent in any additional languages yet, I enjoy picking up phrases and improving my communication skills wherever I go. I believe language is a great way to connect with people, and I’m always eager to learn from those around me!

I have a strong background in animal welfare, hands-on (and hands off) care, and team leadership, with experience working in sanctuaries, farms, and rehabilitation settings. I hold a Master’s in Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare and have worked with a variety of species, specialising in horses but also including wildlife, farm animals, and companion animals. My expertise includes:

Animal handling and training – Confident with a wide range of animals, including nervous or rehabilitating individuals.
Equine care and management – Extensive experience in daily horse care, groundwork, and behavioral assessments.
Enrichment and rehabilitation – Skilled in creating tailored enrichment programs to improve animal well-being.
General farm/sanctuary work – Comfortable with physical tasks such as mucking out, feeding, and maintaining enclosures.
Beyond animal care, I also bring:

Social media and communications skills – Experience managing content creation, outreach, and engagement to support projects.
Reception and guest management – Friendly and organised, with experience in administrative tasks and customer service.
Team leadership and training – Used to coordinate volunteers, ensuring smooth operations and fostering a positive work environment.
Adaptability and problem-solving – Whether it’s handling unexpected challenges or taking on new roles, I’m quick to learn and thrive in dynamic environments.
I’m happy to get involved in both practical and organizational tasks and always bring a hardworking, proactive attitude to any role. If you're looking for someone reliable, experienced, and ready to contribute, I’d love to be part of your team!

  • What else ...

Outside of work and travel, I love playing games and having a good laugh—whether it’s a competitive round of Dobble, card games, or board games, I’m always up for some friendly fun! I’d say I have a free-spirited and easygoing nature, happy to join in on social activities but also comfortable doing my own thing. I enjoy yoga for both fitness and relaxation, and I love exploring the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, horse riding, or just wandering through new places. I’m always up for a good conversation over a drink but equally happy with a chilled night in or having a coffee date. I like to keep things balanced, positive, and open to new experiences!
