  • Description

Hi I'm Julia. After I graduated high school in 2022 I went to Israel to participate in a one-year volunteering program, where I worked with people on the autistic spectrum. Over there I realized that I didn't feel quite ready to let my gap year come to an end. That's why I want to explore Europe this fall. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and experiencing their ways of life. I'm especially interested in traveling to rural/quiet areas. Currently some of my favorite things to do are reading, taking walks, journaling, exploring new areas and cities, painting (even though I'm not good at it) and meeting with friends.

Growing up in as second eldest in a home of five children I'm pretty much able to do anything around the house like cleaning, cooking etc. I have never worked on a farm before, but I'm a quick learner and could help out with tasks that don't need special expertise.
(update: right now I'm on a sweet family farm in Hungary and I'm quite enjoying it)
I'm also interested in any DIY projects and have done some around my house, such as building a chicken coop from an old desk or upcycling an old dresser. I also sew occasionally in my free time.
I have experience in working with children, since I used to volunteer at a children's group in church and have babysat my own siblings quite a lot. Before starting my travels I worked with people on the autistic spectrum, who need support throughout the day since they don't talk and are very dependent. This has taught me how to work with different people (the staff was changing a lot) and be a good team.
During my school time I was tutoring younger students in maths, German and English, so I think I would be able to teach my native language to others.
