Hello!
My name is Joris, and I come from the Netherlands. I've just arrived in Melbourne! I have a work/tourism visa, so my one-year adventure has begun. Before settling down to work, I want to explore Australia and New Zealand in an adventurous way. It sounds fantastic to start with a few weeks of workaway while planning the upcoming journey.

I am drawn to positivity, and that is what I focus on. I love being in nature and enjoy various sports such as kitesurfing, bouldering, boxing, paddle tennis, yoga, running, hiking, and mountain biking. Mindfulness and meditation are also important to me, and I try to incorporate them into my routine. I am a true enthusiast of games as well.

Another hobby of mine is work! I completed a three-year carpentry program and, as a result, obtained my MBO diplomas at levels 2 and 3 before pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Despite my background in civil engineering, I prefer hands-on practical work. I am a people person, so I prefer working with others, but I'm also comfortable working alone for a period. I have extensive work experience as a carpenter, exhibition builder, interior builder, and festival builder. I am always enthusiastic about learning new things!

As I mentioned, I am a carpenter. I might not have experienced every type of task, but with common sense, I always manage to figure things out! :) Carpenter duties encompass a variety of tasks, so let me mention a few:

-Renovation work
-New construction tasks
-Flooring installation
-Building walls
-Constructing verandas
-Bathroom remodeling
-Painting
-Some experience with electrical work
-Building festivals
-Interior construction
-I have my driver's license and forklift certification

I enjoy outdoor work and am comfortable working in the garden as well! While I have less experience in this area compared to carpentry, I believe I can quickly grasp almost any practical task. I am a hands-on person with a logical mindset. I have a good eye for my work and can work well independently.

I think I've covered most of it. I would love to build a good personal relationship with the job's host. While I enjoy working, the atmosphere during both work and stay is perhaps even more important to me!
