  • Description

    Hello, my name is Jasmine.
I've recently left my full time job in the Lake District UK to go travelling in south east Asia and beyond. I was working for the Lake District National park, helping support farmers to deliver projects for nature, climate, people or place. I also have experience in hospitality, including cafe's, pubs and camp sites. I love working with people, and will go above and beyond to make the people i work with happy, be that clients or colleagues. I also relish in working independently in nature. I come from a farming family and am happy to get my hands dirty.

I've come on Workaway because i hope this will give me the opportunity to really connect with the places that i visit, and understand the culture and people.

  • More details about your skills

I have a degree in geography and a real interest in how we can make the world more sustainable. For me this means improving nature & fossil fuel emissions whilst also supporting thriving societies and preserving our cultural heritage.

Working with farmers in the Lake District i have developed many skills. Communication, project management, budget management, group facilitation, event management, tour guiding, grant applications, policy writing, public consultations. I am a fast learner, extremely organised and thrive in challenging environments.

I have grown up on a dairy farm and am used to manual labor on farms including milking cows, feeding and administering medicine to animals, cleaning out sheds & equipment. As well as driving tractors.

I am a great communicator, be this 1-1, in large groups, over email or phone. I have run my works social media channels, and written a monthly column in my local newspaper.

  • What else ...

Growing up in the beautiful Lake District means i love nature, spending my time outdoors, walking for miles, wild swimming. Besides this i spend my free time reading, doing yoga and cooking. Music is also very important to me be this jazz, soul, rock, pop, house, garage... we all need a little music and dance in life.
