Hello, my name is Jan. For the entirety of my life I have lived in a small village in the countryside of southeast England. I love it here! I have an allotment where I grow organic vegetables for my family and friends and work part-time as a studio assistant in a tucked-away recording studio. I enjoy spending time with friends, often cooking, making music, or going off on adventures. Most of the time I feel curious, open-minded, patient, and adventurous; sometimes I feel inward and afraid but I am developing ways such as meditation and yoga that bring me back to the present moment. A curiosity about humans, food, farming, and different ways of life has brought me to work away. I hope to help and to learn.

My skills include gardening, growing plants, building things (such as an upcycled shed, a skateboard ramp, and a greenhouse), cooking (going through an Ottolenghi phase at the moment), playing instruments (guitar, bass, piano) singing (sometimes in front of people), writing songs, dancing, DJ mixing, sound engineering, mix engineering, barista, cleaning, organizing (in the tidying aspect and events and people too), digging (we dug out a pond in the garden by hand).

What else ...

I love learning and making lots of kinds of music. I listen to a wide variety including folk and country, dance music such as house and drum and bass, classical, and Spanish. I love dancing to all kinds and really want to learn more.
My cooking interests are also vast. I love being in the kitchen, as long as it's a calm environment, and cooking for people.
I love playing games such as cards and sports (any but mainly football, tennis, cricket, and table tennis).
