Hello all!

I am Jacob Salomé - currently mid-20's, living in my native country the Netherlands and always eager to move about, discover and connect. When traveling I have always been so grateful and perplexed by the hospitality of the people I met. Workaway as an organisation seems to agree and capitalize on this and I would like to partake.

I am currently studying still - finishing up my Masters degree, but with the strangeness of the past year my plans for afterwards have fallen though leaving me looking for new adventures and challenges. What I have to offer is a fit mind and body, a background as handyman and gardener, a fair amount of travel- and cultural experiences, a compulsory need to reflect and try to improve, and an honest love for nature and people.

The world is such an impossibly strange and beautiful place and I would love to see it all, or at the very least make a very decent effort towards it.

Professionally I have the most experience with (academic) research and writing. Especially when it comes to global history, narrating cultural & historical identities, and international relations. But I have experience as a.o. a handyman, a gardener, a dockworker, and many years in hospitality.

I am very outgoing, easy to make friends and be friends with - and getting better at keeping in though on the long term. Most of my social circles in the last years have been international and culturally diverse so I can traverse social and cultural circumstances very adequately.

I love reading, thinking, forming new ideas, like working hard if I can find an intrinsic motivation for it.

I am currently still enrolled in my university, plan to finish my Ma-thesis in October and have one class I need to take december till February (This will most likely be online).

I am working on a Podcast project narrating the Dutch Golden Age (approx. 17th Century). It still in the earliest stages but I am really excited for it.

I hitchhiked a bunch - mostly around Europe.
Lived and studied in Osaka, Japan for a year.
I really love the Netherlands, but do think we could use more mountains.
