Description
Hi y'all
I'm currently looking to spend as much time as I can exploring and enjoying Canada over the next couple years till either my money or visa run out. I want to explore some of the more remote parts of this beautiful country, and try and really immerse myself in them , rather than doing a whistle stop tour. Therefore I'm interest in workaways with several weeks duration at least, so I can really get to know the people I'm staying with, and the places that I'm staying.
I've got a lot of travel experience all over the world, and even lived in other countries before, spending a year volunteering as an engineer out in India, so although I'm new to workaway, I've got plenty of experience of working with, learning from and living with people from all over the world.
I'll explain my skills in the next section , but as for hobbies I love anything with a bit of an adrenaline kick that gets me outdoors, so skiing, mountain biking and surfing are all loves of mine. Sadly though cant usually do that year round, or even every year, so most the time I do a lot of Brazillian jiu jitsu that's slightly less weather dependant.
Look forward to meeting some of you,
Ian

More details about your skills
My background is as a mechanical engineer with about 10 years of experience now, so I'm very good when it comes to building, making and fixing things. I'm competent with most hand and power tools, and have built several pieces of my own furniture too.
I can also help with more complex projects if some more design experience is required, I've built several fluidic system which might be useful for developing homemade irrigation, and I can also do low power electronics work, and software automation, if you're looking to create a smart home system. I might even be able to do design models for you, or drafts sketches for helping plan out building work better too (although this will require a half decent internet connection).
I think I'd be best suited to DIY and building projects based on my skills, although I'm more than happy to help out with anything else that might need doing.
