Description
Hello, my name is Hortense.
I'm a Franco-English woman from Normandy in France. I've just finished studying design and architecture in Paris. Before entering the working world as an architect, I decided to take some time out and travel around South America.
I had the opportunity to do workaway in Australia and Hawaii, during my gap year after high school. I worked in stables, on a farm and on a surf campsite. It was fantastic and that's why I want to do it again.
Passionate about sailing, I started at the age of 7 in the Cotentin, where I come from. I had the opportunity to practice on different types of dinghies. I've been a sailing instructor during the summer season for seven years now, teaching groups of children and adults how to navigate in particular on Surprise-type sailing boats.
Since 2019, I've been working summers in Switzerland on Lake Leman. My routine has been mainly to work at the sailing school during the week and roam in the Alps at the weekend. This experience has enabled me to discover the mountains and has nourished my love of hiking and bivouacking. Moreover, I am planning to join a crew and cross the Atlantic on a sailing boat at the end of this trip from South America, to return to the other side of the ocean.
One of my other favourite passions is spending time with horses, especially walk in the countryside and seaside. I've been riding for more than 15 years (French diploma - Galop 5) and was involved in the training of my pony using an ethological approach.
I like to eat healthily, practice relaxation and physical activities. I'm easy-going, open-minded, independent, organised and always curious to learn skills and share time with new people.
I'm looking forward to new adventures and to offering you my help :)Interests
