Description
Hello! My name is Gwen. I live in southwestern NH and have spent the last two years traveling and working seasonal jobs. I have been making art since childhood and am now working towards a more serious dedication to painting, theater, dance, and especially puppetry. I have spent most of my life in rural NH working with my parents on our small vegetable farm, and am interested in living in an urban area on the east coast in order to be closer to artistic opportunities.
I've spent many months living communally and continue to seek out cooperative housing arrangements, including work-trades, multigenerational households, intentional communities, etc. I have several connections in Boston and would love to find a way to try out the city in a family household and without committing to a yearlong lease! I love reading, working and recreating outside, painting, drawing, paper arts, making puppets, social dancing, and going to see live theater. I like to cook, and am happy to work on household projects inside or out.
I would like to sign up for some art classes and get connected to a theater beginning in January in time for the beginning of winter classes. My ideal timeline in Boston would be from January to March/April, depending on when classes end and summer/spring art intensives begin. If that is too long timeframe, I would be happy to spend just a month or two with a Workaway host.Interests

I've done about four months of apprenticeship carpentry work, several months of customer service work, some kitchen prep, childcare, manuscript editing, and many years of fine art and crafts lessons. I can cook vegetarian and gluten free food, and know how to clean, tidy, organize, and walk dogs!
