  • Description

    Hello, I’m Émilie!

I’m a naturally curious and positive person. People around me would describe me as independent, cheerful, reliable, and a bit adventurous. I love discovering new places, new ways of life, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
After spending six years in boarding school and six months in Toronto as an au pair, I’ve learned to adapt quickly and take initiative.

I grew up in a small village in the Belgian countryside, where my parents have a small farm with sheep, rabbits, chickens, and a large vegetable garden.

This year, I’m taking a gap year. After living in Toronto for six months, I would love to discover more parts of Canada. I’m already planning two volunteering experiences through Worldpackers, and I’m looking for a third one to continue learning and exploring.
I have work experience in different fields: I spent one year working in a bakery (both in the workshop and in sales), two seasons at a garden center, and I also have a diploma in childcare animation. Thanks to that, I’ve spent many summers working at camps taking care of children.

I enjoy hiking, photography, and cooking. I also like working with my hands, whether it’s gardening or small building projects.

Although I’m new to Workaway, I already have volunteer experience: spending six months as an au pair in Toronto while improving my English was a wonderful experience that gave me a lot of confidence and valuable skills.

Through Workaway, I hope not only to help with practical tasks but also to create real connections, share great conversations, and leave with unforgettable memories.

I’m excited to see where this adventure will take me, and I can’t wait to meet you!

    Hello, I'm Émilie!

I'm a naturally curious and positive person. I think people around me would describe me as independent, cheerful, reliable and a bit adventurous. I love discovering new places, new ways of life and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
After spending six years in a boarding school, then 6 months in Toronto as an au pair, I learned to adapt quickly and take the initiative.

I grew up in a small village in the Belgian countryside, where my parents have a small farm with sheep, rabbits, chickens and a large vegetable garden.

This year I'm doing a gap year, after living in Toronto for 6 months, I'd like to discover other parts of Canada. I'd do two volonriat with Worldpackers. And I'd like to find a 3rd. I would like to discover new things. I worked 1 year in a bakery in the workshop and in sales, I worked 2 seasons in a garden center. And I have my dimploma in animation with children, so I've been to a lot of summer camps to take care of kids.

I enjoy hiking, photography and cooking. I also enjoy working with my hands, whether in the garden or building small projects.

Although I'm new to Workaway, I already have experience as a volunteer: I spent 6 months in Toronto as an au pair while taking courses to improve my English. It was a great experience that gave me a lot of self-confidence and taught me a lot.

Thank you for reading my presentation, I look forward to meeting you.
