  • Description

Hi there! My name is Ella. I’m 24 years old and I was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where I still have my home base.
Living in such a diverse country, I have been exposed to the somewhat piercing duality of abundance and scarcity that exists in this world. However to me, South Africa remains a remarkable place, filled with such rich culture and vibrancy. The nature is breath-taking, the people are open-hearted and warm, and you can never run out of things to do.

    A bit about me >>>

I am in the process of starting my own online business around cyclical coaching, in which I support women with building self-trust, connecting to their intuition and leaning into their multi-dimensional expression, all through the wisdom of their bodies.

I also completed a TEFL course (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, in 2019, in which I received a TEFL Certificate. I have taught many students since, in an online 1:1 capacity.

I am passionate about so many things, namely - dance, horse-riding, nature, animals, caring for my body, my community, writing, travel, cooking and eating, connecting with my loved ones and meeting new like-hearted people... and more!

    My volunteer experiences >>>

In 2019, I had three unique experiences through Workaway in England and Italy which were all inspiring, connective and fulfilling!

In that year, I also volunteered for 6 weeks at Wild Spirit Backpackers in Nature's Valley, which is up the east coast of South Africa. I worked in reception, welcoming and checking in and out guests as well as supporting them with any queries, making sure their stay was magical. This remains one of my fondest memories, and I consider that place very, very special.

I completed a two week social practical at SARDA (South African Riding for the Disabled Association), where I helped with caring for the horses as well as assisting young people who have disabilities to ride the horses. It was a gentle, humbling experience.
I also volunteered at DARG (Domestic Animal Rescue Group) helping with various tasks such as cleaning the dogs and cats' living spaces and giving them the loving attention they needed. This was right up my ally as I love, love, love animals.

I have a beautiful community of friends, many of which are foreign, and I feel this is strongly rooted in my passion for multi-cultural exploration >>>

My first ever travel begun in 2016, when I did a student exchange with a girl from the south of Germany.
She stayed with my family and I in Cape Town for three months, experiencing my school and lifestyle, and then I traveled and stayed with her for three months in her hometown and attended her school where I was granted the opportunity to meet new people, learn conversational German and explore the beautiful, historical surroundings.
I feel this is a perfect example of how travelling opens doors to create deep connections with people and different cultures, as this trip certainly opened my perspective and changed a lot for me, in a deeply positive way.

I am amazed at the opportunities offered through the forum of Workaway, and deeply inspired to experience the differences in culture and lifestyle all across the world. Meeting new people lights me up effortlessly and always allows me to grow in unexpected and delightful ways! I think it is extremely important to make space in one's life to explore out of one's comfort zone, as this is where true growth happens.

I have always been incredibly inspired by the experience of being alive and I hope to further my exploration into my relationship with myself and Life through my travel in 2024.
I always trust I will weave paths with those that I am meant to come into connection with, and so I feel excited to see where my journey takes me in this next season.

I look forward to connecting ~
