Description
Hi Everyone!
We are Lu and Stefan a super cute couple from the Black Forest in Germany. We are currently looking for some crazy adventures and unforgettable experiences around the world. Our interests go far and wide, and even though we’re different, we complete each other in harmony.
Meeting new people, learning more about their culture and country, seeing new places and the amazing nature all over the world is what we both love about backpacking and why we left Germany in February 2023.
*About us*
Stefan is a fun-loving person, who doesn't take himself too serious and has always a story to tell. He’s open, joyful and sociable and is one of those people, that never want to do as expected. He likes outdoor stuff, cultural things, yummy veggie food, our nature and sustainability. Stefan is the more outgoing one of us, while I like to be in good company as well, but also appreciate some time for myself.
Nevertheless, I’m (Lu) an open person, who is ready to take on any challenge. I’m spontaneous and I can easily adjust to new circumstances and I'm neither afraid of failure, because I'm sure that every path you choose, will lead you to new opportunities. So here we are now!
During our journey we hope to help others by sharing some knowledge as well as some travel experiences. We wish to authentically witness other people’s way of life and become part of it for a while!Interests

Stefan studied industrial engineering, what gives him a overhaul knowledge about techniques and informatics, although he didn’t liked it that much.
Later he studied social work to do some care work in a psychiatry, what suited him much better. Meanwhile, he also worked as a constructor, chef, and did some work in the field of gardening and landscaping for a few years, as well as some stupid office work. He’s also familiar with farmers life and animal care, because he often visits his sister, who’s a cowgirl living on a farm.
I'm (Lu) still at the beginning of my life. I don't quite know where the journey will lead me one day, but I know that I'm a open minded and confident person, who always makes the best out of every situation.
I did some travels after I finished school, that made me even more open-minded and which certainly contributed my decision to study in a field of social work. I wanted to help people and at the same time see the world through their eyes to become more aware of the problems in our society. Therefore I also started to work in psychiatry, which is also where Stefan and I first met.
Even though I haven’t been able to gain tooo much practical work experience in this field, I’m quiet self-confident and get along well with other people. I’m patient, organized, tidy, creative and will always find a way to solve any problem.Age

*Our journey*
Our journey starts after leaving our home in February 23' to travel without any specific end date.
So far, we already made our way trough Asia, Australia and recently New Zealand.
Starting from Istanbul, we visited the beautiful island of Cyprus and then headed over to Israel, where we tried out Workaway for the first time. We spent almost two weeks in the nord, where we stayed with a chaotic, but lovable family with three kids. We helped with day to day tasks, painted walls, worked around the house and garden, repaired a chicken coop and did other funny things. We slept in a yurt in their backyard and got the real experience of life in an small Israeli village.
After that we moved on to help out on an organic farm. We had a lot of fun there, met nice people, harvested and planted vegetables and even builted a pond until it was time for us to leave again. From Israel we hitchhiked to Jordan, where we explored the country by car and made a little road trip along the Dead Sea. We explored the mountains and the beautiful desert landscape, but we didn't get around the crazy and noisy big cities either. After that we went on to Georgia, where we spent most of our time in nature while hiking. We then had a stopover in Dubai with its many skyscrapers, which totally felt like another world. Afterwards we unfortunately only visited India shortly, before the unbelievable hot summer made us flee to Nepal, where we fell in love with the country, the always-happy people and the amazing nature. We traveled Nepal for about a month and hiked through the Himalaya mountains. Some temples of Bangkok later, we finally made it to Japan, which was totally different to all the other countries before. We lived right where the atomic bomb hitted Hiroshima, been to an quite and peaceful japanese island and finally climbed Mount Fuji on a stormy day. After that, we visited South Korea and it’s colorful districts, as well as it’s beautiful green nature. We again did one Workaway here, where we help with some tasks around the house, especially some gardening and also some heavy work, where we got a little dirty. We then left to spend one month in very-chinese China, where we stood on the Great Wall and saw some stunning National parks. We went all the way down from Peking to Hongkong, which was much different than expected. From there our paths led us to Vietnam, where we learned, how to cross the streets with the most motorcycles, we'll probably ever see. Some weeks later we took the bus over the boarder to Lao, where we stayed on one of the thousand islands in the middle of Mekong river. From there, some long travel days brought us to Singapore, where we took a several-day ferry to Jakarta. Being the only foreigners on the ship felt strange for the first seconds, but then became one of our most special travel moments. Arrived in Indonesia we visited the most beautiful islands, beaches and volcanoes and traveled all around Java by its incredibly slow trains. From there we made it to the Philippines, where we spent a lot of time traveling by boat, bus or motorbike, but also experienced a lot and were even lucky enough to swim with whale sharks.
Our next destination was Australia, where only stayed for short term, fell in love with the Tasmanien landscape anyway. Leaving Australia behind, we made it to New Zealand were we again made a enriching workaway expirience. For almost two weeks we stayed with a lovely family of five, had the most funny days with their lively little kids, worked in the huge garden, made the kid's room ready for new colores and just enjoyed their hospitality. The following three months we now lived im our own Van exploring North and South Island. On the one hand happy, on the other hand a little wistful, we look back on this time, in the for us most beautiful county so far, but we are also looking forward to many new adventures in Canada and America soon.
