Hello :)
After graduating from my mathematics studies I decided to travel through Chile and Argentina. I like to hike and read during my traveling. However, after traveling through the beautiful Chilean south, where there are very few other tourists at the moment, I would also like to meet more others. I am from the Netherlands, and next to reading and hiking I also like to do sports (icehockey, cycling, running and tennis), listening to music and watching movies (especially those from Christopher Nolan).
I speak a bit of Spanish, but would very much like to learn more and improve.
I would like to contribute with preserving the beautiful nature of Chile, by helping with eco friendly projects or working on forest management. In the Netherlands (especially older) people tend to spend a lot of time indoor. I would like to experience a lifestyle in which people spend most of their time together in communities and outdoor. Four years ago I have made a roadtrip through the west of the USA with my sisters, and three years ago I went on a interrail trip with some friends through Europe. However, this is the first time I travel for more than a month. Also this is the first time I am traveling alone. I hope to meet nice people using Workaway and contribute to a local community.

In the past I have done a lot of sports, so I am more than fine with doing some (heavy) physical labor. Also from doing a lot of cycling I have learned to maintain my bike myself, which also made me improve my general maintenance and constructing skills. My father lives in a rural area of the Netherlands, and I help him with all sorts of tasks in the house and garden. Also I have done mathematical tutoring, which I really liked. Also I used to give icehockey practice to children. So I have experience in helping children and teaching. At last, I really enjoy organizing social gatherings and being a host for a party or dinner. For these occasions, and also without these occasions, I enjoy cooking for other people. My signature dish used to be spaghetti carbonara, but now I enjoy making a vegetarian bolognese most. In the Netherlands I have the best group of friends which insure every gathering turns out to be a great success.
