Description
Hello!
My name is Chayenne, but everyone calls me Chay!
I’m a 25 y/o adventurous, animal-loving girl from the Netherlands.
I’ve always been surrounded by animals, especially horses and dogs, and have worked with them for many years.
I’ve taught children how to ride and handle horses and often helped my mom in and around the house. Together, we also have our own horses at home.
My gelding Hippie is 15 years old, I’ve known him since he was one year old!
We used to compete together, but nowadays we mostly enjoy riding with a neck rope, trick training, swimming, and just having fun.
We also have a 6y/o Barock Pinto mare (officially my mom’s), whom we’ve raised and trained since she was a foal.
I’ve taught my horses everything myself, of course, with some falling and getting back up again along the way!
I’ve had some western (reining) lessons and would love to improve my skills and learn more about this style.
I’m open-minded, hardworking, and always eager to learn new things, whether that’s with animals, people, or practical work.
In my daily life, I work full-time as a process operator and, for the past year and a half, have been renovating my own house together with my family (almost finished now!).
I also enjoy cars, I have my own modified car and sometimes go to car shows and meetings.
In the free time I've left, I’m also a photographer (both as a hobby and semi-professionally).
During a Workaway, I love spending time in nature, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures and lifestyles.
I discovered Workaway at the beginning of 2025 and have already had some amazing experiences:
- 2 weeks in Switzerland (March) – at a beautiful ranch
- 3 weeks in Norway (July/August)
- 3 weeks in Iceland (outside of Workaway) – full-time training Icelandic horses
I can’t wait to see what new adventures 2026 will bring!
One part of my dream is to work with horses on western ranches (cattle, reining, cutting, trail).
Kind regards,
Chay
