Hello there! I'm Ben from Germany and I'm 22 years old. I'm a little bit of language nerd and I of course love to explore new places. I'm studying Arabic and Islamic Studies in Leipzig. My main interest are languages, politics, law and cultures. I've been very interested in the Middle East and North Africa for years and love to learn languages from these regions. When it comes to eating I'm a vegan which unfortunately is a little limiting when traveling, but I always find solutions.

More details about my language interests
I'm a total language lover and love to learn new ones. I know bits and pieces of many languages, but I'm fluent in German (native), English, French and Italian. Additionally, I'm learning Levantine Arabic (Syria, Lebanon) and in the future I would like to learn Kurdish. I also love foreign writing systems. I've studied Japanese Kana and Kanji, the Arabic Alphabet, Cyrillic and currently I'm learning the Hebrew Alphabet. I'm a very independent learner and the best learning materials have been those I created myself. Interactive tasks are also great to learn languages. When teaching a language I would focus on the individual needs of the learner and let them decide what they wanna learn. For good pronunciation it can be helpful to learn to pronounce words using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).

My key competence are languages :) I'm always happy to help you with German, English or French.
Furthermore, I like gardening and working with wood, which I unfortunately don't often have to possibility to do. I have basic skills using tools like saws but I wouldn't consider myself an expert. Nonetheless I'm always happy to learn new skills.

I'm a very responsible, honest and calm person. I'm a vegan, but apart that I'm not picky in what I eat. I follow this diet for ethical reasons, because I'm a big animal lover. Even if you're not vegan, I can always arrange myself with very basic meals like pasta, rice, potatoes and some vegetables.
