I’m Arthur, I grew up in Cambridge England, and I’m on a gap year before university. I’m solo travelling for the first time in Central Asia this spring, and I’m really trying to use that time to have as many new experiences and see as much as I can before embarking on ‘real’ life at uni. I love anything outside, most of all hiking, and I’m very open to meeting new people. I’d also love to really immerse myself in the culture and traditions of the places I’m visiting, and workaway seems like a great way to do that. I’m always keen to help out others, learn new skills and see as much of the world as I can. I’d say my main skills are focussed around physical work - for my job I’m a punter on the river Cam in Cambridge (you will need to look that up), and it’s given me great experience interacting with people from all over the world.

Expertise in outdoors physical activity - I have a full time job as a punter on the river Cam. For context this is pretty intense and physical work.
Expertise in public relations - my job involves me giving a guided punting tour to thousands of tourists per year, and I work to make my tour as engaging and interesting as possible.
Good academic knowledge of History, Religious Studies and English Literature. I did all three subjects for A Level, and got high grades in each, with particular distinction in History.
I’m a keen sportsman. I frequently train and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, with multiple Gold medals in regional competitions. I’m in good shape, and I transfer this to any physical work I’m doing.
