Hello,

My name is Anaïs Vantroyen, and I’m 19 years old. I’m currently in my final year of university, studying theater and film. Ever since I was little, I’ve dreamed of traveling on my own and discovering life beyond my beautiful capital, Brussels. The challenges and social experiences of such an adventure are my main sources of motivation. I’ve always enjoyed pushing myself and testing my limits.

I’m also a very sociable person. I love meeting new people, which is why the idea of traveling alone and living with others doesn’t scare me. I tend to adapt easily to new situations and embrace change, as it brings something fresh—like a breath of fresh air. For example, I spent two weeks alone in London, and by the end of the trip, I wished I could stay for several more months. That experience made me realize how much I love traveling solo and embracing my independence.

Aside from traveling, my family is what fulfills me the most. I have a 14-year-old brother with whom I share a very close bond. He’s just as important to me as my mother and father. I deeply value what my family represents to me and the principles we share.

In short, I’m a typical teenager who loves chatting for hours over a drink, putting on makeup, and socializing. However, I’m not the kind of teenager who locks herself away in her room. I need to go out with my friends and spend quality time talking with my family. These small but meaningful moments reflect who I am.

I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t stepped out of my comfort zone during key moments in my life. For me, real life begins when you leave your comfort zone!

I’ve been a scout all my life (a youth movement in Belgium) and am now a scout leader. This experience has given me excellent skills in working with children, and I can confidently say I’m a good children’s entertainer. My years in scouting have particularly enhanced my sociability and ability to adapt to both people and situations (such as hikes, camping, cooking, and more).

I also have a student job at an indoor playground, where I look after children, manage the bar, and handle reception duties. My most recent student job was in the kitchen of a small independent brewery located in a hospital. I often worked alone in the kitchen starting at 7 a.m., which taught me how to manage responsibilities—both with customers and in preparing meals for them.

One of my strongest skills is having great social interactions with others, whether it’s with adults or children.
