Description

Hi, we are Amy and Ash, a couple taking a career break to do a campervan trip around Australia. We are really interested in doing work away experiences to learn new skills, see new places and meet people all around Australia.

Amy is a social and community worker and experienced working with youth and people experiencing homelessness. She has also previously worked in hospitality, retail and customer service. She loves DIY projects and being creative.

Ash is a public servant and experienced in project management, renewable energy policy and administration. He has also previously worked in hospitality, retail and financial services. He enjoys hard work and a good ice cream.

We are keen to make the most of our life and make long-term memories. We gain happiness from nature, a good days work and making things. We love hearing about other people’s lives and trying something new.

Amy has previously worked as a social worker in the homelessness sector for the last 5 years, developing skills in building connections and finding practical solutions to problems. This at times has included helping with small everyday tasks like showing someone to change a lightbulb in their new home to helping build flat pack furniture. Outside of work, Amy loves DIY projects and doing practical jobs.

Ash has worked as a public servant for several years, with skills in communication, project management and using computers.

We have recently developed new skills in using power tools, carpentry, plumbing and wiring from converting our Ford Transit campervan.

We love working in the outdoors and have basic gardening knowledge and experience. This includes planting and growing vegetables, flowers and Australian natives. We are comfortable with weeding, lawn maintenance and general tidying.

What else ...

We are really interested in meeting and making connections with people. We think it is so important to listen to others perspectives and hear their experiences of the world.
In our spare time we love spending time outdoors, including camping, learning to surf and hiking. We have lived in Australia for 3 years now and would love to see as many places as we can while we go around on the big lap.
